40-45% Billing Error

Hi!I recently launched a hard paywall in my app and have had a fair few people each day sign up to the 3 day free trial.Around 55% of users remain after the 3 day trial but I am finding that when it ends around 40-45% of the remaining users are running into 'billing errors' meaning they end up not paying at the end of the trial despite never cancelling.The app does target a younger audience, but this still feels way too high. Has anyone come across this issue before at such a high % and if so, is there anything we can do to try and improve this number?Thank you!

Hello!I wonder what the best way is to show a discount to a user after they have canceled their subscription. I want to show a different paywall to the user. do revenuecat-stripe purchases work for web in an expo app?

I developed an EXPO app for ios, android and web. I am able to successfully purchase using Revenuecat in android and ios devices, but the web version doesn’t trigger the stripe payment screen. I get this error. Why use GIFs in the the documentation?

Whoever made the decision to use GIFs as visual demonstrations in the docs should be fired and publicly humiliated. Their thought process must have been, “Let’s make things extremely difficult to see, fast moving, and cannot be paused.”. It’s unbelievably frustrating. The documentation is very nuance and attention to detail is highest priority. Why not use a 30 second clip in video format that can be paused and rewinded …. ya know so people can actually see what they need to do 😂😂😂🤡🤡🤡?

RevenueCat Experiment with Offer Codes

We’re working into creating an experiment but it looks like it would affect the usage of offer codes. We create an offer code under a subscription and since an Experiment requires a separate subscription, we would also need to create a separate code. As I see it, it’s unavoidable so maybe offer code doesn’t work well with Experiments?

Where to edit descriptin passed in getOfferings() ?

I’ve setup my payments with various subscriptions in Play and Apple store. All working fine. I need to however change the description that is displayed in my payall. I am using flutter and get offering fromofferings = await Purchases.getOfferings();I cannot see where, I can update the description of each offering? Is this in revenue cat, or the app store(s).. eitherway I can’t see where to set it?

Getting "Purchases offerings error" & BILLING_UNAVAILABLE."

Our Android Live app is seeing a lot of the following errors when users try to pay for our app. Recently, a lot of users with newer Android phones are also having this issue so don’t believe it’s a Google Play version issue. Does anyone know what is causing this? "Purchases offerings error" {"code":3,"message":"The device or user is not allowed to make the purchase.","readableErrorCode":"PurchaseNotAllowedError","readable_error_code":"PurchaseNotAllowedError","underlyingErrorMessage":"Billing is not available in this device. How can I get information on Google Play and Expo about how many purchases the user made at one time?

Users sometimes purchase a single product 10 times. I couldn't find the log for this. The log entry for purchasing a product only provides the total number of purchases. How can I access the data for the quantity of a single product purchased in a single transaction?

Multiple offerings vs custom identifiers

Hello, It’s unclear from your documentation what the recommended approach is when a company has two subscription levels (e.g. Basic and Pro). The Entitlements documentation clearly shows two separate subscription levels of “gold” and “platinum” in the images (below), but then the Offerings documentation only really explains what to do if you have a single subscription level (and then you choose the Monthly, Annual, etc identifiers). The recommendations on the forums seems to go from “use separate offerings” to “use a custom identifier”.  Based on the example image you have on the entitlements documentation below, I’m assuming you’d recommend keeping both tiers in a single offering, but using customer identifiers instead of the default ones (e.g. gold_monthly, gold_annual, platinum_life, etc).I’d strongly encourage you to add this 2-tier setup to your Offerings documentation, since it’s a very common scenario, and it was really unclear to me what the best approach was. Thank you!

Developer action needed on Subscription

Hi, I am new to iAP and Subscriptions. After 10 years, i decide to go free app with subscription and i realized after my app approved theres something wrong. I edited some field in the appstore connect and i cant submit new version with the subscription. I am attaching a screenshot, for the appstore localization, it says waiting for review. And in the subscriptions section, it says developer action needed. How to get out of here and submit the new version with the subscription successfully for review?

How do you disable existing subscriptions?

Currently we have 6 active monthly subscriptions products on Apple and Google, however we want to reduce this down to 2. If we disable/delete the other 4 what will happen to the users that are on those subscription products? Will their subscriptions renew at the end of the month?

Whats the process when a user creates a subscription in iOS / Then pulls in entitlements on Andorid

Hi,I am hoping somebody can help with some logic behind how to handle the following scenarioThe user installs my app - purchases a package (there are 3 levels)  - lets say they do this on ios in the AppStore. They then install and login to my app on Andorid device - they can ‘restore purchases’ on this device to pull in the entitlements from RevenueCat and I can manage access etc. ?? .. but what to do/how to handle -  if a customer wants to cancel subscription - or upgrade/downgrade subscription ??I have got the subscriptions working fine, with cancel link, and upgrading/downgrading etc …. however I am a little confused as how to handle what to do if a customer wants to cancel subscription - or upgrade/downgrade subscription if the original subscription wasn’t purchased on the current device app store ?If I use the same code that works fine when device is installed on native app store device… I get an error - which seems obvious as it will be checking the current Android/iOS subscrioti

Stripe payment IDs

Hi, We’re trying to set up Stripe for web payments.According to the documentation, we need to send with the RC API a POST request with the following parameters: subscription ID and the app user id. The subscription id is the id we get when creating the subscription with Stripe starting with `sub_` correct?For the app user id, the documentation says:the Purchases SDK needs to be configured with the same App User ID associated with the Stripe subscription.Does that mean we have to pass the customer id from the Stripe transaction or it can be any id?

No offer id for new Google Play products in Segment events

Hi there,It looks like in events sent to Segment the product_id for new Google Play subscription products is the <subscription id>:<base_plan_id>, however it doesn’t give any details about which offer the user purchased. Would it be possible to either get an additional offer_id field on the event, or change the product_id to also include the offer id, e.g. <subscription id>:<base_plan_id>:<offer_id>.Thanks,Lydia

Identify promotional offer in webhook

First of all, thank you for your great work.Is there a way to identify a webhook event is a promotional offer or not?We have a promotional offer in apple store: first month 50% off discount. Webhook events look like this:1. First event:{   …,   "period_type": "NORMAL",   “price_in_purchased_currency”: 10 }2. Second event:{   …,   "period_type": "NORMAL",  “price_in_purchased_currency”: 20}Which looks correct, however, we want to identify the first event as ‘promotional offer initial purchase` for our own record. It can be identified through ‘price_in_purchased_currency’ but it’ll get complicated since there are up to 200 currencies. We tried to add customer attribute to give more information when user buy promotional offer, but that goes to all events so it doesn’t really meet our needs.Just wondering if there’s another way to differentiate the initial ‘promotional offer’ subscription from following ‘normal’ subscription. Thanks a lot!

How to handle duration of non-renewing subscription?

My app offers a one year auto-renewing subscription. I also need to offer a one week subscription that does not automatically renew.I am expecting the entitlement associated with the non-renewing subscription to be automatically revoked when the subscription expires, like it does when the user cancels an auto-renewing subscription.I am able to specify the duration for the non-renewing subscription on Google Play, but don’t see how to do it on App Store Connect.In searching the internet, it seems App Store Connect doesn’t support durations for non-renewing subscriptions.Has Revenue Cat come up with a workaround on iOS so that entitlements associated with a non-renewing subscription can be automatically revoked?Are entitlements automatically revoked on Android, at least?

Does StoreKit Configuration under Product->Scheme need to be set to none in order to test in device

I’ve noticed that in order to see the purchase status reflected correctly under App Store → Sandbox Account → Subscriptions, I will need to set in Xcode Product->Scheme->StoreKit Configuration to none. But in doing so, I’m unable to retrieve the correct Trial offer eligibility information. On the other hand, if I set a value to the StoreKit configuration file, then I’m able to see the up to date trial offer eligibility info on Paywall, but the purchase won’t show up under App Store → Sandbox Account → Subscriptions, in spite of the success purchase confirmation.What is the proper way to test in the sandbox environment in this case? Please advise. Thank you.

React Native Android Free Trial Cancelled due to a billing error

I'm encountering an issue with all of my Play Store plans that offer a trial period. None of them are converting after the 7-day free trial period, and I always receive the following error message: The peculiar aspect is that this issue is specific to the Play Store; it works fine on iOS without any exceptions. Can you please assist me with this matter?

Non-subscription in-app purchases?

Hi. I’ve just started using RevenueCat and I really like the ease of integration, however, unless I’m missing something it appears that RevenueCat does not support non-subscription in-app purchases. Is that really correct?For my application, I need monthly and yearly subscriptions, but also a consumable purchase. I really don’t want to have to implement two different solutions.Can anyone tell me if I’m wrong? And if not, has anyone heard that at least basic support for consumables is the RevenueCat roadmap?Btw, I know that RevenueCat will pick up these transactions for reporting, but that’s not helpful to me.Thanks!
