Experiment and Control pricing both displayed in App store

Hi community, We started an in-app subscription pricing experiment following Revenue Cat’s best practices.  All is going smoothly except we see that the control and experiment subscription group pricing are both visible in the App Store under “in-app purchase”.  Some similar apps with subscriptions also have duplication in the price listing like we do, but not all of them. Is this unavoidable?  Are there other best practices around experiments to manage display of experimental and control pricing in the App Store?   Advice appreciated!

Is a free trial of say 3 days recommended for a monthly subscription?

In the Apple App Store, we’re currently offering a 1-week free trial for our annual subscription, and I was wondering what is the best practice for monthly? Perhaps a 3-day trial, or no trial for monthly in order to encourage annual? Thanks!

What strategy to use to notify the backend when an anonymous user becomes a logged in user?

Hi guys, We have the following scenario : - User is anonymous in the app, purchase subscription.- RevenueCat associates subscription with that anonymous user ID.- Our backend receives webhooks for the INITIAL_PURCHASE associated with the anonymous user id.- User signs up with our backend. User is attributed a unique user ID.- Our backend is unaware that the user has a subscription.- When the mobile apps tries to access some features (let's say GET /documents), they get an unauthorized error. Currently, the strategy we plan to use is to explicitly refresh a user subscription when the user tries to access the feature (GET /documents) and has no associated subscription. This means the feature is not paywalled in the mobile app, so the mobile app is aware of a subscription but not the server. Do you have any other strategies to deal with this?

How to implement a RevenueCat checkout process for Flutter web?

I understand that RevenueCat Flutter SDK does not support web, only mobile devices.  Our payment provider is Stripe.  I see you do have a REST API that I can use in Flutter.  So my question is how do I design a complete checkout process with Stripe and RevenueCat?  I don’t see any examples of this online.

Stripe public API key not working when calling REST API endpoints

In my desktop app, I use Stripe, connected to my RevenueCat account, to display a web page with a Stripe paywall (I use a Payment Link to keep it simple), and then call the RevenueCat REST API to:list my offerings purchase a product through Stripe check if a user has purchased my one-time payment product or not recover a one-time payment purchaseI want to interact with those APIs directly from my app, since I don’t have any back-end.So in order to test that, I tried for example to call the following endpoint, in order to get my offerings, using Postman:https://api.revenuecat.com/v2/projects/{project_id}/offeringsAs described in the documentation, I use the “Authorization” header.And here is my problem:if I use my secret API key (that I created with the right authorization) as a value, it works but if I use my Stripe public API key, I got an error: “Invalid API key”Which I don’t understand since I can use the public API keys in a mobile app to achieve the same actions above.So I have tw

Error handling in React Native

Hi,We’re developing an app for iOS and Android with React Native. We want to use RevenueCat as payment provider. Our test with Android works fine. But on iOS an error occurred:Error 23 on iOSWe understand that something in our configuration is causing an issue. But we can’t get the error handling correctly on React Native. [BUG] Template 7 - Siamese Content : Unable to create paywall

When I choose Template 7 and add packaging with the 'Custom Settings per Package' option, I fill in all the fields and press the 'Create' button, but it shows a warning: 'There are validation errors that need to be fixed before submitting.' A red highlight appears on the packaging section, but no specific error is shown.

I have set up the RevenueCat Paywall. The Paywall works correctly on my iOS app but Android app does not show the paywall.No matter what paywall I choose in RevenueCat, it only show the one below. Do I miss any setup process?

Regarding cross-platform support and control of duplicate purchases of the same plan for multiple accounts

We are considering using Revenuecat for cross-platform support, but our service, is designed so that the same user can have multiple accounts, and the system does not keep track of which users have which accounts. We are told that cross-platform support requires the use of a custom App User ID to track users across platforms, but if our app's user_id is set to a custom App User ID, they will be treated as different users, and we will not be able to track users if the platform changes. How can we achieve cross-platform support while preventing duplicate purchases of the same subscription plan when the same user currently has multiple accounts? Would we need to build a separate system to have users decide on a parent user_id and integrate them even if they have multiple accounts, so that Revenuecat sees a one-to-one relationship?

iPhone: issues viewing sandbox subscriptions and deleting them

We’re currently at the testing phase for subscriptions, and are running into some challenges. We’ve made sandbox user accounts on our devices, but when we test subscriptions in our apps, the default apple ID is used. It’s not billing us, but it throws the subscription into a weird state of limbo where it’s not a real subscription that shows up on my personal apple ID, and it’s not a sandbox purchase which shows up under that subscription listing. We do see the sandbox purchases in Revenue Cat, but we’re unclear how to delete a subscription that doesn’t appear under our personal apple ID or the sandbox ID?I’m seeing one work around is to logout with the personal Apple ID, and then make a sandbox purchase, logging in with the sandbox ID. However, logging out of an iPhone totally jacks up the device as that’s connected to like everything -- not an ideal solution.The real #1 question is how to delete subscriptions so we can retest, ideally without having to log out of our devices with our

Should we make our app subscriptions available in just US & Canada, or all regions?

Can anyone point us to recommended best practices for regional availability? Our app is in English, so should we just release it to US & Canada, or better to have it available in all regions? What are the considerations there? Like should you only expand to other regions once you’re ready to offer i18n there, have consulted an accountant on any unique financial / tax practices, or does the Apple App Store handle most of that? Thanks!

how to dynamically configure when the paywall is shown?

I want to experiment when I show the paywall to users. For example, I want to start with 3 experiments - show it immediately after they sign up, or one week later, or one month later. Making the game free completly without a trial period or subscription until that moment. I already setup 6 offerings with different price points and presentations of price options. I suppose I can create 18 offerings which are the same 6 offerings but on the 3 different time delays, but that seems like a lot. Is there a simpler way to experiment with when to show the user the paywall?

Feature request: Add a possibility to add the OR operator to Targeting rules

Hello,I’d like to request for a possibility to add the OR operator when defining rules in Targeting.Currently it is only possibly to add the AND operator for matchers.It’s really cumbersome to create a single rule that can match Android app versions 2.2+ and iOS app version 2.3+ and in the same time adding a test versions of the app regardless the version.We’d need to create 3 rules in order to achieve that, duplicating all the placements we have in each rule.Adding the OR logical operator would allow us to do this in a single rule.Here’s an exampleAny chance for that soon?

Does Apple support Revenue cat?

Hi guys, maybe I missed something - but I want to clarify this question, does Apple support - Revenue Cat or other services for mobile app(subscription)  for Dubai/Ireland? From Apple support I got an answer: Apple Developer Program Support doesn't support third-party development tools. You can also refer to the link below regarding Apple Pay guidelines for the web. But I see on the website that there is support, and a bit confused whether it makes sense to connect this service or not?

Wrong free trial length

When we created our plans, wrong offer (trial period) was added to 1 of the plans on google play store. Accidentally we used 7 months instead of 7 weeks. Trial length was changed to the correct one already.Is there any way to change trial length for existing users? Or maybe some other suggestion what can be done to not allow users to use app for free for 7 months?

My application doesn't need user to create account or login. When the user open the app, they need to subscribe to one of the plan to use the app. I am having trouble submitting the app for Google review since they need me to give them access to the app.Is there anyone familiar with this situation and does revenuecat has any function for this case?

Questions about restricting duplicate purchases of plans by the same user on multiple accounts and multi-platform support

I have a question.I am considering introducing revenuecat to my in-house app.The existing specifications for my in-house app allow one user to have multiple accounts, but in that case, would it be best to use revenuecat's real-time API to prevent duplicate purchases of the same plan?Also, based on the above assumptions, I am considering multi-platform support for iOS, Android, and Web.When the same user with my in-house app account who has purchased a plan on an iOS device logs in on an Android device, I would like to treat them as a user who has purchased a plan and provide them with paid features. To achieve this, would I need to create a system that allows my in-house app API to make this determination using data based on Webhooks?

Anyway to attach custom metadata to a user's payment

We need to add some metadata (key-values) to user’s payments. As an example, we’d like to send workspaceId and other key-value parameters along with a payment that user is creating.I understand that there is a Subscriber attributes which offers capturing custom metadata on the user object, however what we need is to attach metadata to individual payments and not users.Anyway to acheive this functionality with RevenueCat APIs?

I am using RevenueCat for in-app purchases in my Ionic Capacitor React app. I have a question regarding the scenario when a user purchases or subscribes to a plan. If the payment enters a pending state, how can I check whether the payment was eventually successful or failed?And also how i am check if the user are not cancel their subscription after plan purchase.

Non recurring 24h subscription for iOs and Android: How to realise this?

Hi,I would like to implement a 24 hour “full access/no ads” acess to my App. It should be a one time purchase for the user and automatically expires after 24 hours. I see only the possibility to implement this with consumables.How I would realise it:I would create an own Entitlement for those consumables My app would check all transactions for this Entitlement and consider the entitlement as active if one of the purchases has been done max 24 hours agoCaveats I see:Revenue cat would consume the product directly after purchase. And then the entitlement stays active forever. Not a problem. But not really beautifulWhat do you think of this idea? Are there more caveats or problems you see? A better idea?

Need help with implementing promo codes for subscription discounts

I'm currently facing an issue with implementing promo codes in my app. Currently, my app has only one subscription, but we would like to provide different "promo codes" that offer discounts on the subscription based on the code entered. After reading the documentation on promo codes for Android, I discovered that the Play Console promo codes don't exactly meet our requirements. They only allow for providing free trials to users and don't directly support subscription discounts. However, I came across the "subscription offers" feature and had an idea of creating a subscription offer with the criteria "developer determined." This way, I could create an offer with a discount and maintain a list of valid codes within the app. When a user enters a valid code on the app paywall, the offer with the discounted price should be applied to their purchase. With this plan in mind, I created a developer-determined offer yesterday. Today, I'm trying to find a way to retrieve that offer within the app

Discrepancy in Transaction Amounts in Production

Hey everyone!I wanted to share an issue I’m experiencing with RevenueCat in my app, which is currently in closed testing. Yesterday, I made two purchases using a real credit card to check how things work in production mode. Up until now, I had only tested with Google Play’s test cards, and everything worked perfectly in sandbox mode.The issue is that while the payments were processed correctly (each purchase was under 1 USD), when I checked the "Overview" section in RevenueCat, it recorded a total of 30 USD, which doesn’t make sense. Both transactions are listed as if they were 14.99 USD each.This seems strange since everything worked as expected in sandbox mode, and the amounts were recorded correctly.
