I’m trying to export transaction data on a per transaction basis, rather than per user. I’m using a Customer List to do this. For example, I’d like each row to be a transaction by date (user ID, purchase date, amount paid, product name, etc.), whereas the current export shows each row as a single customer.
In my “Cohort” report, when looking at the retention of our yearly subscribers, it shows retention rates above 100% (see attached screenshot). This seems like a good thing...I just need to know what it means. Is this extra people who are resubscribing who have subscribed previously (not a renewal)? Or does anyone know how to interpret that? Maybe I’m completely misinterpreting? Thank you in advance for the help!
I am trying to export a list of all customers with an promotional purchase however most (over half) of the users that are export do not have the app_user_id column set.I know for a fact that all these users have an app_user_id as this is used to grant their promotions. It also looks fine for the sample of most recently active users that display in the customer list on the website as they all display their app_user_id under the customers column.I have compared the list of most recently active from the website to what was exported and there are ids on the website that don’t appear in the export. Can anyone provide insight into why this columnmight not be populated for majority of my users on the customer list export? Any help is very much appreciated.
Hello! In the documentation, you mention that the cancellation webhook may be delayed up to 2 hours, but the rest of the webhooks typically deliver within 5-60 seconds.Let’s say that a user cancels a subscription, but then reenables it before the cancellation webhook gets sent. In that case, what types of webhooks would I get and in what order would they be in?e.g.would a cancel → resub result in a renewal → cancellation? Or does RC not send the Renewal, since as far is it knows the sub is still active?
Hi,I started my experiment on January 20. Both variants have successfully converted users from 3-day trials. However, after almost 3 weeks (on February 7), I didn’t see any results for the experiment. Instead of it, I see the message “Data for this experiment will be available in 24 hours”. Questions:How do I know if my experiment is running successfully and I’m not wasting my time by looking at placeholders for several weeks? Why does RevenueCat say that the data will be available in 24 hours if this is never true? I’m running my third experiment and data was available in 1-3 weeks. What are the minimum criteria for data to be available? E.g., at least three converted users / purchases? Are there any plans to show how the LTV is calculated for each variant? Any clarifications on my questions would be greatly appreciated.
Hello, I have a problem with changing renewal preference of my subscriptions, it was just working yesterday but now it shows that subscription I wanted to changed to is bought and subscription I wanted changed from is set as a new renewal preference. So to explain it more clearly:I have now “subscription_month” want to change to “subscription_year” when I click to buy it it show correctly native android message that you will change from “subscription_month” to “subscription_year”.But when I go to revenuecat I see “Started a subscription of subscription_year” Changed their renewal preference to “subscription_month”Don’t know why this happen I checked and it gives correct sku in UpgradeInfo I am taking it from “purchaserInfo.activeSubscriptions”. As I said it was working just yesterday so I have no idea what could have changed.
Hi, I’m confused about what should the webhook type be in the following 2 cases:I canceled my subscription or my subscription expired, then after several months I purchase it again in the app.I realized Gold subscription I previously purchased is not enough so I purchased Platinum subscription in the app while my Gold subscription is active.
Hi!The docs (https://docs.revenuecat.com/docs/apple-server-notifications) mention the step “Scroll to the App Store configuration section, and copy the entire URL provided under Apple Server Notification URL [in the RevenueCat dashboard]”. However, I don’t see that section at all. Is there anything I can do to make this section show up?
Hello! We just launched an update of our app yesterday that uses RevenueCat to manage subscription IAPs. I can see some of the summary information at the top of the dashboard display how many active trials there currently are, along with a revenue summary, etc. But when I click through to view any of the charts, all the data is still empty. I understand that some charts are delayed by 7 days, like the trial start chart, but all the other charts are empty too. I’m also able to see the recent transactions coming in at the summary list at the bottom of the dashboard.Looking at the Charts guide (https://docs.revenuecat.com/docs/charts#monthly-recurring-revenue), it seems like most of the data should populate right away:“All charts are generated from the current snapshot of purchase receipts saved in RevenueCat and work independently from any in-app usage. This means that your charts are always up-to-date, without having to rely on any client-side event logging.”So just wanted to confirm if
I really like this chart! In particular, as someone with a very new app, I’m enjoying breaking it down by daily cohort, and looking at my conversion rates with a 15-day delay to the current day, to see how each successive cohort did as 14 day trials expire.I had a quick question, how does the pending column work? I noticed that many users will remain in pending past the length of the trial, is this related to my billing grace period, or maybe something to do with payment processing delays? Or are their other factors at play? Just curious, :)
I am unable to replicate the Active Subscriptions number from the dashboard chart. From the transactions data obtained through the ETL exports, I have tried the SQL example found here, as well as variations of it, but the result always differs from what’s in the chart. What are the calculation details for Active Subscriptions?
Hi there, we’ve been running an experiment with two different annual prices for over a month now:Variation A: $12/mth and $50/year Variation B: $12/mth and $60/yearWe noticed the following behavior:The test has always been close, but slightly favoring Variation B for the first 4 weeks Then after the first month was over and the first set of monthly subscriptions were renewing / churning the test completely shifted towards favoring Variation ASo now we are wondering what happened and whether we’d need to wait for 11 months more and once the annual subscriptions start to renew, the picture would look completely different again. How confident can we be that these results are reliable and we should get rid of Variant B now? Also is it possible to get some more insights into the breakdown of the collected data for the tests? Since those tests are very important and the prediction model is somewhat of a black box, it would be very nice to see how many monthly vs annual subscriptions were start
Hello,How can I report on % of users crossgrading? For context we have a product that has a monthly, quarterly and an annual subscription. I can report on monthly churn, but what I am not sure about is how to calculate how many of those monthly users have not really churned but moved to a a quarterly or annual subscription. Thank you!!!
It appears the "Trial cancellation date" filter also applies if a user has cancelled a subscription? For example we have the following filters to show users in the last X amount of days who have started and cancelled a trial. But going through the list there are 3 active subscribers and it looks like each of them... 1. Start a trial2. Let their trial convert into a subscription3. Cancel the subscription but it has not expired
Hi,I am integrating webhooks in out AWS backend application. I am wondering if webhooks can use HTTP? Seems that webhooks seem to work only with SSL certificate. Is there a best practices section for webhook implementation? I haven't found it and it could be a great resource for us. Thanks for any help.
Hi,I’m noticing a difference in the trial started numbers between the Trial Conversion page and the Active Trials Movement page but not sure why it’s happening. This is happening on the new Chart version and here’s the steps we did to reproduce it:Go to the Trial Conversion page Set the Date Range to last 90 days and Show to ‘Days’ Note down the number from the Trials column for a specific day Go to the Active Trials Movement page Set the Date Range to last 90 days and Show to ‘Days’ The ‘New Trials’ number doesn’t seem to match the number of trials from step 3 for that specific day
Hello, We are experiencing delays on Dashboard data that we have not been having before. For example the “installs”-metric has been quite reqctive to small changes and seems quite real time. Now however it changes on steps of 10 installs and only like once in an hour. We see from other analytics-solutions that there is constantly installs. Maybe the yesterdays Major outtake is still effecting the reporting?
Hey all! I’m researching different ways to do our next feature and I have some doubts about if RevenueCat can handle the following use case: We want to build a cashback feature with certain rules based on the app usage of the user in a given period of time. To be able to do that we need to know all the payments received in a given period of time to be able to calculate the amount of money to cashback and to whom.Is there a way to easily do that with RevenueCat? An example flow that might be enough: Every first of the month, we can download a .csv file with a list of events occurred in a given period (past month) including: userId - amount ($) - event (renewal/initial_purchase) - timestamp - duration (monthly, annual) - productId
