Missing webhook deliveries for events during the Nov 23 outage

Greetings, RevenueCat team & community Yesterday I found out that some customers don’t have premium access anymore to my client’s app - the premium access is offered through a monthly recurring subscription. Looking at their profiles in RevenueCat, a colleague noticed that the webhook delivery for the Renewal event was missing in the dashboard - please see the attached image. Thus, our backend had no idea that the subscription should be extended. Now we are in a situation where some customers paid, but don’t have access anymore. I exported a custom CSV list from RevenueCat for all renewals done on Nov 23 and checked them one by one, out of about 120 renewal events, 12 had missing webhook deliveries. I provided that list to my teammate and he manually fixed them in our database. However, there are probably more customers impacted than what I managed to find. I’ve implemented in-app-subscription of google playstore using revenuecat and it’s working in testing/sandbox mode. Now I want to go live with in-app-subscription, Does same public api key will work? What steps I’ve to take?

Setting Dashboard

Hi, we are setting RevenueCat first time. We have our subscription plans already set on Google n Apple stores. Do we need to set them up on dashboard again or revenuecat can sync them automatically?

Restore purchase event

Hi, Is there any way to either get restore purchase in the data RevenueCat is exporting to S3 or in the events that are sent to Amplitude?We are having a hard time merging users that do a restore purchase on a different device. It’s two different users on Amplitude which is not correct. For now, we don’t have user accounts on our app, so we don’t have a specific id for each user but an id based on the device.Thank you,

Can't upgrade Cordova plugin

React-Native - Migrating from Native App to React Native - Usage understanding problem of restorePurchases() and syncPurchases()

Hello, the topic is:I build a React Native Follow Up of a native App which is already in stores (Google, Apple).I have no access to the source code of the old App.I want to enable the users possibility (after App update) to use their subscription which he/she/x have bought via the old native system.I wonder if its necessary to call syncPurchases() on first App start ? Or will restorePurchases() (This will be triggered on users CTA click) do all what i need?Looking forward to your answers.ThanksRobert

App failing to retrieve package in production for about 20% of users on iOS

We’ve been using RevenueCat forever and recently updated to 4.13.1 and instrumented the app properly so this behaviour might have been present in the past but we wouldn’t have known it.About 20% of our users who attempt purchase fail due to RevenueCat returning a nil package. We’re not sure what could cause such a large percent of them to fail and if that’s normal (i.e. 20% of users are launching our app for the first time without Internet connectivity?). Has anyone else seen those failure rates that high?

Unknown Error | App Store Review Only

After 10 rejections, I’m trying to get some help here. In my latest app, I’ve a $5/month subscription. Everything works fine when I compile using Xcode or distribute to my beta testers with TestFlight.But when I submit the build to Apple, they alway (10 times!!!) reject it because of a “Unknown error.” after successful purchase. Here is the message they send every time: Guideline 2.1 - Performance - App CompletenessAn error message is produced when attempting to complete the in-app purchase transaction.Please see attached screenshot(s) for details. Thanks for your help!

Subscription add-on

Hi, How would you go about stacking on top of a subscription. For example user “A” has monthly basic subscription for $5 which allows 1 account to be monitored, say they want to add an extra account to be monitored for an additional $3 but still remaining on the basic option, meaning the total new subscription amount will be $8 per month.This should be dynamic so that if the user wants to add any given amount of accounts it would still workHow would you be able to go about this?Thanks in advance 😎

The provided Google Service Account credentials JSON is invalid.

I have a problem when trying to add Service Account Credentials JSON.I’m using the same file that I've used in the past, for 4 different apps, but now I’m getting an error.   I’ve noticed that previously we had to copy-paste the content of the json file in the text field, and now we’re adding file itself (this image is from the documentation).  Also, I’ve checked that service account has appropriate permissions for all of my apps.

offerings are empty when using amazon app store and flutter

React Native SDK - Xcode and Billing Library

Hi,I’m, trying to upgrade my app to use Billing Library 4 for Android as per the new requirements for updates on Google.  However, the new 4.0 version of the Revenucat SDK for React doesn’t run on a clean IOS build with the SDK installed - throwing loads of errors. So, two quick questions for you all:Q1: Does the Version 4.0 of the Revenuecat React Native SDK need me to upgrade my Xcode to 14? (i’m on Xcode 13)Q2: Version 3.3 of the Revenuecat React Native SDK works fine for IOS. However, does it use the Billing Library 4 that I need?Thanks in advance!Paul

Is it necessary to restore purchases on Android?

Since calling `.configure` with the app user id automatically transfers purchases to the new account on Android according to the docs, is there any reason to manually call `restorePurchases` on Android? Also, does `logIn` also transfer purchases on android, or just `.configure`? should I call `.configure` again when the user changes accounts?

trying to create some simple consolidated reporting using the actual product description and I dont see a way to get more that product identifier through REST API using getOfferings… is there another way to get the desired information.

Is it save to show the App User ID to the user?

Is it save to show the App User ID to the users in the app or does that hold any potential for abuse? My app uses anonymous IDs only. When users contact me for support, I can’t link their email addresses to their RevenueCat profiles. I was thinking about showing the App User ID to my users in the app so they can append it if they contact me. Is that safe or not a good idea?  Looking forward to your answers.

Is it possible to activate a subscription for free? Or pay for it on the user's behalf? (Useful for bundles with physical objects)

Hello!I am evaluating whether to use RevenueCat or not into my next app, and it is my first time using a subscription model. I plan to sell a service subscription either:- As a standalone product (through the app)- Bundled with a physical product sold through ShopifyWhile the former is a common RevenueCat use case, I am not sure on how to achieve the latter. I understand that RevenueCat’s business model consists in withholding a percentage of the subscription cost encountered by the user on the app store, thus I don’t think I can simply create a new subscription for zero cost through the API (correct me if I am wrong).If that’s the case, what if I pay for a new subscription on a user’s behalf by using the revenues from the Shopify purchase? In my specific case, the user could use the app itself for activating the subscription after the purchase, but he should be able to activate it for free (as he already paid for it). Is it thus possible for my business to pay the subscription on his

Problems with customer's dashboard and page

Hello everyone, I am having some troubles concerning RevenueCat.First one is the list of customers which do not appear many users that is already created in RC and we can access by id. (Even filtering directly by an email that exists)Second problem regards to importing old android receipts to RC. It worked with most of cases IOS and android, however, I do not know why, there is two users that have subscriptions and RC do not track it. They have a valid receipt and subscription. When migrating them, RC always responds with status 200. Thanks in advance for your help.

Force Sandbox for promotion through API, no SDK?

Hey all,Im trying to set up some test/sandbox data but dont seem to be able to make sandbox promotions. At first tried using the customer management portal with the Sandbox Data checked, but that seems to have still made the promotion a production version. And getting the user shows that the subscription generated is_sandbox is false. I then tried using the api with a secret token through postman but it still has the subscription set to prod. Is there a header or value that needs to be set to avoid the automagic and force it to pick prod or sandbox?Edit: Just a little extra info, my use case is a backend dev that is pulling data from RC to confirm active entitlements for access permissions. In our development envs we want to keep at least one user with a lifetime subscription that wont expire so we can test the subscription requirement for auth.
