no-login app: user can access subscription on multiple devices

Hello Revenue Cat Community. I have an internal test track of a Google Play app, with a RevenueCat managed subscription (anonymous, no app login). I was under the impression that if a user bought a subscription on Device A , and then downloaded the app on Device B (and logs into his Google Play account on that device) - then the subscription should only work on one of the devices. Currently I am testing with 2 physical devices - and it doesn’t seem to matter which device I bought the subscription on, and which device I use to access the app: the subscription works on both of them.Is my assumption wrong then? Subscriptions will work on any device - so long as the user is logged into the correct Google Play account? (and does this logic hold for Apple?) Thanks.

periodType in IOS production doesn't detect free trial

Hello. I check this property using (customerInfo.entitlements.active.value.periodType == .intro) which works fine in sandbox, however in production it doesn’t detect the free trial period correctly.  Any thoughts?  Thanks.   Kareem.

BILLING_ISSUE vs. CANCELLATION w/ BILLING_ERROR - what's the difference?

Hello!BackgroundWe’ve noticed that we now typically receive a BILLING_ISSUE webhook followed by a CANCELLATION webhook with a reason of BILLING_ERROR when a customer encounters billing problems in the App Store/Play Store.The webhook documentation does not really tell me what the practical difference is between these two:BILLING_ISSUE:There has been a problem trying to charge the subscriber. This does not mean the subscription has expired.CANCELLATION w/ BILLING_ERROR:Apple, Amazon, or Google could not charge the subscriber using their payment method.The CANCELLATION event with cancellation reason BILLING_ERROR is fired as soon as the billing issue has been detected. The EXPIRATION event with expiration reason BILLING_ERROR is fired if the grace period (if set up) has ended without recovering the payment, and the customer should lose access to the subscription.From the descriptions here, it kind of seems like they are interchangeable. Neither signify that the subscription has expired,

RevenueCat Purchases.configure crashes my Xcode app after 2 minutes in TestFlight

My Xcode app has RevenueCat Purchases.configure(withAPIKey: "myApiKey") which runs fine in a device from Xcode. The same app crashes in TestFlight after 2 minutes even if left alone. I commented out Purchases.configure and it stopped crashing in TestFlight. I need help.

QuickStart guide step 8: got error "RevenueCat.OfferingsManager.Error error 1"

I’m trying to set up RevenueCat, following the QuickStart guide.My IAP on App Store Connect has the status “Ready to Submit”. I’ve reached step 8: https://docs.revenuecat.com/docs/getting-started#8-displaying-available-products But I get the following error. Can't delete product with transactions

I’m trying to delete two unused products (the ones without entitlements in my account). However, when I try to do this, I get a message saying that they can’t be deleted because there are transactions using that product.However, no matter where I check (lists, charts, sandbox purchases, etc.) I can’t see any record of subscriptions using those products. How can I determine what transactions are being referenced so I can successfully delete the products?Separately, I ordinarily wouldn’t care about having unused products, but I’ve been experiencing an issue where I see [Purchases] - WARN: 🍎‼️ Invalid Product Identifiers messages for those two products appear while testing my iOS app on a physical device.I receive 50+ of these messages within ~1 second, memory usage for the app spikes from 30MB to >2GB, and the entire app crashes. What is going on here and how can I resolve this issue? I’m very concerned that my users could be experiencing this as well.

Questions about Apple's billing retry status

I have a web application as main and a mobile application, Apple also forced us to give the option to charge for apple within the app, we are implementing.But I'm in doubt about his signature at apple after his signature expires due to payment failure, Apple says that it goes into a Billing Retry mode and that it stays 60 days trying to charge…Does this mode only enter when the grace period has been enabled or does it activate the same? My question is, there was no payment, a billing_issue event came, then an expiration event, and a cancellation event comes right after expiration, or does it only come cancellation after 60 days?I'm confused as to how the apple subscription is after it expires due to lack of payment, if it is active, then I enable my client to contract outside (web) with our means of payment and Apple is still trying 60 days, there could be two methods charging together, ours and Apple's... Can I only enable customers to contract outside Apple after these 60 days? Don't

Non-native grace period via Apple is possible?

After subscription expires due to non-payment on IOS  can I create a different grace period (example of 3 days) and control it on my own or if it is expired at Apple, the customer really must not have access to my Application and Apple prohibits it if they have access for a few more days even though the grace period has not been enabled from native Apple?

Webhook BILLING_ISSUE from Apple

How many days before renewal (expiration date)can a BILLING_ISSUE event come from Apple?In Apple's documentation they say that they try to see if there is a problem with a payment with the customer 10 days before and 24 hours beforetry to renew the customer's subscription several times.I was in doubt if I can receive a BILLING_ISSUE 10 days before that period or if it would only be within 24 hours before.

Forward Stripe Webhooks

Hi,  We already have a Stripe webhook endpoint that does preprocessing and database updates for the webhooks listed here among others on our Express server. Is there a way to `forward` that webhook that Stripe sent our server to RevenueCat once our updates are done rather than having Stripe send RevenueCat the webhook directly? Inside those webhooks from Stripe am I simply able to call the following endpoint and the subscription status would automatically updated in RevenueCat, thereby triggering a RevenuCat webhook?await axios.post('https://api.revenuecat.com/v1/receipts',{ app_user_id: userId, fetch_token: subscription.id },{ headers: { 'X-Platform': 'stripe', Authorization: `Bearer ${config.revenueCat.stripe}` } })

"In Review" for nearly a week

I have introduced monthly and yearly subscriptions using RevenueCat SDK in my app. My app including these products has been approved, but the subscription products are still “In Review” status for nearly a week.Is this a regular delay according to your experience? Do you think I should keep waiting?I am concerned because my app offers these non-available products to the customers. Not a good user experience.It seems I cannot revoke these subscription products from review in the AppStore Connect interface. I wonder if it is possible to revoke them and submit them again, if it helps?I wrote to the AppStore support, they replied that they will let the reviewers know. But nothing changed. The waiting silently continues. I keep checking and seeing “In Review” status with no feedback or update.Thank you.

Allow transfer for sandbox testing

For testing/sandbox, can we have conditionally allow transfer vs block restore?It’s quite difficult to keep all the test accounts inline and temporarily enabling restore behavior to transfer in the dashboard can lead to other issues affecting prod users.

Why are some of my subscriptions canceled due to a billing error?

Why are some of my subscriptions canceled due to a billing error? Am I doing something wrong on my end or does that mean the user’s credit card isn’t working or something? Some of the transactions are going through and others aren’t so I’m not sure why this is happening.

Hello,I know based on legal/irs rules, we are not allowed to collect subscriptions and manually pay the person the end user is subscribing to.  I know stripe has connect, which the 3rd parties authenticate and provide their payout details (ach or otherwise).  Then they also deal with creating the IRS forms and such. Does Revenuecat support taking subscriptions on behalf of another business entity?

How to offer permanent discounts on subscriptions?

How to offer permanent discounts on subscriptions?We currently offer two subscription plans, monthly, and yearly.  Everything is setup and works fine so far.  What we would like to do, is for our affiliate program, offer a % discount to people are referred to the app using a discount code.  We track and setup this separately, so we can pull a different “offer” from revcat.  We’re just not sure how to configure this so that users can’t see all of our subscription pricing from the native subscription management pages.  I saw that iOS offers “discount codes”, but we aren’t giving unique one-time use discount codes to customers (many customers will show up with the same “referral code”).  If someone gets referred to the app, we want to show them a separate set of subscriptions.  However, on iOS, it seems like the user can switch between all available subscriptions via the iOS subscriptions manager.  We don’t want to show (or allow switching to) these other plans for users that didn’t come

An Apple Sandbox subscription purchase gives back an entitlement that expired a week ago on a new account.

Anonymous User and App Store Account Deletion Rule

The App Store account deletion rule references “guest accounts” as also requiring deletion. Should I assume that “guest” would be analogous to RevenueCat’s “anonymous users” that are automatically generated in RevenueCat? And therefore that these anonymous accounts would be subject to the same deletion rule even though there is no personal user information linked to that id?If so, and I wanted to manually delete the account upon user request, what would be the best practice method of obtaining the anonymous user id so that they could be manually deleted? (I have no server for the app). Thank you!

Check if user has already bought something

I am currently building an app in Flutter using RevenueCat for the in-app-purchases.I now want to know for each user, if he has already made an in-app-purchase, since I have trial subscriptions activated. I need this information, because I want to adjust the UI in case a user registers with a new account that I haven't seen in RevenueCat so far. In this case, he won't be able to use the trial subscription again, since Google/Apple prevent this.I am using a custom ID for every user in my app and I use this ID for RevenueCat aswell, one could just create a new account and get a different user id. Ass far as I understand, in this case, this looks like a "new" user to RevenueCat which has no subscriptions. I think the solution would have to check the GooglePlay-Account for an already purchased subscriptionSo far I have not found a way to find out, if a user has already made an in-app-purchase. Any ideas on how to achieve this?Thanks.

Will a user see all available prices in the iOS Subscription manager?

I have added multiple subscription prices to App Store Connect so I can switch between them using the RevenueCat current offering to do some A/B testing on prices.But this got me thinking...When a user views their subscriptions in their App Store account, they can make changes like cancel or upgrade/downgrade a subscription.Will this list offer the user all the available subscription prices? Can a user go to this page then select the lowest priced subscription to change to before a free trial expires then get it for the lower price?There doesn’t seem to be a way to tell ASC which subscriptions to show as not/available.

Offerring Override

I see the option to override an offering on the customer page. I’m assuming this doesn’t change the offering the customer has with Apple/Google?  The user case I'm tried to cater for is the following: Existing subscriber completes a challenge in app. We reward them with a promotion on their subscription (e.g. 30 days free).From what I've read you can use iOS offer codes, but its messy. Wondering if anyway to setup a promo in RevCat then target specific user IDs by overriding their offering. Likely not but thought I would ask anyway. Thanks all
