iOS 'Receipt is invalid' Megathread

If you’re here, it’s probably because you’ve encountered an active issue related to Apple’s receipt verification. RevenueCat relies upon Apple’s `verifyReceipt` endpoint which is currently facing an outage: https://developer.apple.com/system-status/ This seems to be affecting sandbox and TestFlight purchases only at this time, although Apple’s status page doesn’t mention it explicitly. Encountering this issue? Post below ⬇️ RevenueCat isn’t able to resolve this at this time from our end, but it may help bring awareness and ease to other developers facing the same issue. Update 2/8/23 19:20 UTC: Customers (and me 😃) reporting things are working as expected again - post below if you’re still having trouble, seems like a slow rollout of a fix from Apple. Update 2/8/23 17:40 UTC: Apple’s reporting the issue is fixed, but we’re still encountering errors. Will provide another update as soon as possible.

React-Native / Expo Go: How to solve `TypeError: null is not an object (evaluating 'RNPurchases.setupPurchases')`

Expo Go doesn’t build native modules, so you may run into this error while trying to run your app with react-native-purchases in Expo Go. In order to use RevenueCat with Expo, you will have to create Development Builds, which can be done either by using EAS, or by making builds that are compatible with Xcode and Android Studio. Help wanted: StoreKit 2 beta testing

Hi! 👋🏻 We’re in the final stages of our testing of some StoreKit 2 features before fully calling it ready for production, and we’d love your help! Context: Starting with v4.0.0, our SDK already uses StoreKit 2 by default on compatible devices for some features where the StoreKit 1 functionality was problematic, buggy or unreliable, and StoreKit 2 is essentially guaranteed to be an improvement (like checkTrialOrIntroDiscountEligibility) . For devices that aren’t compatible with StoreKit 2, it defaults to a StoreKit 1 implementation. However, we haven’t enabled StoreKit 2 by default for making actual purchases. We’ve tested it extensively in Sandbox and StoreKit Test (see our blog post on how we test our SDKs) but we need to see how well StoreKit2 behaves in production before calling it ready. Expo managed app: Testing IAP in iOS simulator

How can I test IAPs in my Expo managed app in the iOS Simulator? I’m getting PURCHASE_CANCELED when I try to purchase a subscription in my app using an Apple Sandbox account. The app is running on the Apple Simulator with iOS 16.4 installed. All my apps, built on FlutterFlow and live in production, were checked today. I found that all packages are not displaying, and there’s only a gray screen.

How do I show a user the price they are paying for a current subscription

I’ve see this asked before both in terms of subscription price and in-app purchase price. It seems the only way to the current subscription price in the local currency is to get that information from the webhook. This seems completely against the core value proposition of Revenuecat as a source of record for in-app payments. Why don’t you guys actually fix your apis? Is this product still under active development? It seems the client sdks rely on the v1 REST api and the v2 REST api has been abandoned. Please clarify what’s going on and give a firm roadmap of when you expect to fill out the v2 api.

RENEWAL event unexpected flow after SUBSCRIPTION_EXTENDED

Hi this is a continuation of the conversation that I missed here.I wanted to find out what are the expected events to come before RENEWAL. Specifically when the webhook sends them to my API. I was thinking that only SUBSCRIPTION_PAUSED can come before RENEWAL but today I got a RENEWAL a day after a SUBSCRIPTION_EXTENDED event. Is this expected? If so, what other event types are expected to come from the webhook before a RENEWAL? Customer History view seems to correctly order these events as well.

Hi team is there any plan for releasing a sdk for electron in future? I know flutter does it however flutter team don’t focus much on macOS and web in general.It would be great if there is an electron sdk. Lot of popular apps are electron based.

Offerings not loading on iOS 18.4 — works fine on older versions

I'm running into an issue where offerings are not loading only on iOS 18.4. All of my apps that use RevenueCat have been working fine for months, and they still work perfectly on iOS 18.2, and earlier versions. This is happening in all of my apps and I haven’t changed anything recently. I’ve gone through everything mentioned in this article multiple times to make sure my setup is correct. I’ve tested this on both a real device (using a sandbox account) and the simulator The issue is the same on both. I even created a brand new product just for testing, added it to App Store Connect and RevenueCat, but it still didn’t work. I’m not using a StoreKit configuration file. The SDK version is 5.20.2. Suddenly I get a lot of INSTANT Trial cancelations - anybody with the same problem?

We updated to the new version of Revenue Cat and suddenly we get a lot of instant Trial cancellations. Meaning the user comes into the App, creates an Account, starts a trial and then instantly (meaning same minute) the Trial is cancelled. You can cancel the trials in the app and are then forced to fill out a questionnaire. But there’s no questionnaire filled out. Meaning people would needed to start the trial and immediately close the app and then cancel via iOS Settings. I find this highly unlikely (but could be true) - anybody else with this problem?

Shows "No Packages Available" on the app that is installed through Testflight. Please help

Hi team, This issue has been there for over week and I tried all possible solutions based on my search and asking around, the in-app one-time purchase flow seems to work absolutely fine if the app is installed on my device through XCode Build process or even in simulator but when installed through Testflight, it shows “No Packages Available”. This is my first app so it is getting even tricker, and just a few hours ago Apple rejected for the same reason saying in-app purchase is not loading. Because it shows “No Packages Available”, in “Upgrade Now” button is not visible. I checked the Revenuecat details as well as Apple Store Connect details and I see it seems to be correct. Any help please?

Sandbox subscription cancellations for Google not showing

I’m busy testing my app and subscriptions are happily going to RevenueCat dashboard, no issue there. When I trigger a cancellation for the subscription from Google Pay, I see it going to the pub/sub without a problem, I see that in my setup screen, the pub/sub shows the time the cancellation went through ( Google Developer Notifications Topic ID Last received 2025-04-16 at 04:30 PM UTC) - yet, it doesn’t actually cancel from the dashboard or update in the SDK. Since subscriptions end after 30 minutes, there’s no way to test the “your subscription won’t renew functionality”. I’m fairly confident it generally works, but I’m worried that Google might reject it as they will be cancelling a subscription, but my app will happily show that it will renew. Am I missing something? (I’m yet to figure this out fully for Apple as I had a whole different nightmare with them). Space above image at the top of paywall

Hi! I am using the new Paywall V2 with Flutter and on Android the image at the top of my paywall is not at the top of the screen. There is a space above the image that is as large as the notification bar, almost as if it was wrapped with a SafeArea but also had a offset of notification bar height. I use RevenueCatUI.presentPaywallIfNeeded(). I have set the background color of the paywall to red for these images to be as clear as possible. How it looks from Paywall editor The components How it looks on Android Edit: I have now also tried with text at the top, and that works with no problems. The editor updates the view so that the text is above the image. On the Android device the text appears on the red part and the image is not moved down any further (maybe some pixels)

How to get a purchase for specific store_purchase_identifier avoiding extracting all purchases

Hi there, I’m currently calling https://api.revenuecat.com/v2/projects/{project_id}/customers/{customer_id}/purchases for extracting all purchases and then check for a specific one using store_purchase_identifier.Is there a way to avoid extracting all purchases from the server every time I need to find a specific store_purchase_identifier? Seems like a Text in Paywalls V2 have problems with newline in texts

If I paste string with newline in paywall editor and display paywall in UIKit app it will behave like this: Notice the “\” symbol, that is added. If I try to add newline via enter key, and use UIKit to display paywall: If I paste string with newline and use SwiftUI app to display paywall: If I enter newline via enter key and use SwiftUI app, it will show it like this: Seems like there is inconsistency in paywalls behaviour, what should I do? Now I use UIKit mainly, and I just want to add newline without extra symbols.

Simulator has slow load times for Paywalls and Purchases.shared.customerInfo?

I’m sometimes seeing that the initial view of the RC Paywall or calling `Purchases.shared.customerInfo()` can be super slow - sometimes over 90 seconds. This even happens after I’ve loaded the offerings successfully. For Paywalls, this results in the view showing the ‘loading’ screen (where it has the skeleton of a paywall, with the ‘shine’ reflecting over the top) for an extended period of time. For calling `customerInfo()`, it means my app takes a significant amount of time before the function returns a value, or it means I don’t get any values from the `customerInfoStream` for that same duration after app launch. As mentioned, this happens even if I call `Purchases.shared.offerings()`, which always seems to return quickly. This seems to only be a problem on the first launch of the app, and it mainly seems to be an issue when running in the simulator - running from Xcode onto a real device seems to be ok, although this has me nervous. How to replicate the “Entitlements” overview card from the dashboard in my own admin panel?

Hey team, I'm trying to build an admin view similar to the "Entitlements" card shown in the RevenueCat dashboard (see attached screenshot), but I'm struggling to figure out how to get this same level of detail through the API. Screenshot Here's what I’ve tried so far: API v1 (Get Customer): This gives me a list of all entitlements a user has ever had, but: There’s no connection to their subscriptions. (I cannot find out the different grant periods as in screenshot). It doesn’t tell me if a subscription will renew. (On the dashboard, I see “Will renew in X” — but there’s no equivalent field here.) API v2 (Subscriptions endpoint): I can list the subscriptions and join it with product data to infer durations, renewal status, etc. But promotional entitlements break this: Subscriptions created by granting entitlements don’t have product IDs. The entitlements field in the subscription only includes active entitlements. So if a promotional entitlement expired, the subscription ends up with no

Transfer back handling via API

Manually Transferring Entitlements There are scenarios where I want to manually transfer entitlements from one user to another (e.g., merging accounts or correcting mistaken user assignments). I couldn’t find any API to transfer an entitlement from user_a to user_b. Is there any API or other way using which i can intentionally transfer entitlement ??

Customizing Paywall to Display Specific Offers Based on Tags or Promo Redemption

Hi team, I’d like to know how I can control which offers are shown on the paywall, depending on my own logic. Specifically: • On Google Play, if I create an offer with the eligibility set to “Developer Determined” and tag it with something like offerX, how can I make sure that the paywall only shows that specific offer if I choose to, based on logic in my code? • On iOS, if I create a promotional offer, is it possible to display the paywall with that promo shown as “redeemed” (active) or not, also based on code logic? In other words, I’d like to programmatically control which prices and offers are shown on the paywall: either the standard prices or the prices from a specific promotional or introductory offer I’ve created and selected. Is this currently supported using your Paywall API / SDK, or do I need to build a custom paywall to have that level of control? Thanks in advance! Best regards, David

Paywall composable crash app

My app is crashing with these error after purchase an item in Paywall and open the paywall again “java.lang.IllegalStateException: Unsupported concurrent change during composition. A state object was modified by composition as well as being modified outside composition.” I load the Offers in my ViewModel, setting it into Paywall composable setOffering(viewModel.offering.value) and when Paywall get Recomposed the app crash with that error.

Transfer webhook event handling

Dear RevenueCat Support, I'm encountering an issue where RevenueCat is automatically transferring entitlements between users, and I'd like to understand how to disable this behaviour. Preventing Entitlement Transfers In my use case, each user should retain their own subscription entitlements without automatic transfers happening when a subscription is detected on another App User ID (possibly due to device sharing or restored purchases). Is there a way to completely block entitlement transfers? I looked through the dashboard and documentation but couldn’t find a setting to control this. Is this something configurable per app or only through SDK behavior?

Transferring subscription to a different project

I currently have two RevenueCat projects, one containing an older version of my iOS app, and one containing Android. I’m currently working on an iOS update, and I’d like to amalgamate both of these apps into one project, but I can’t see how to do this. I can set up a new iOS app in the same project as the Android one, which means that all new subscribers will end up there, but is there some way of moving existing subscribers?
