StoreProduct PriceFormatter issues with StoreKit 2

Hiya! Our paywall screen has a “[currency]0.00” — free option, with the currency based on offering?.availablePackages.first?.product.priceFormatter?.locale. With StoreKit 1, this properly returns the expected, matching locale, like Optional(en_US@currency=INR (fixed))But now that we’re starting to test out StoreKit 2 support, we get back Optional(en_US (autoupdatingCurrent))...when using a .storekit file with the storefront changed via Editor > Default Storefront. We can also reproduce this on device. It’s unclear to me if this would be a RevenueCat or a StoreKit 2 bug?

iOS Get Products failed, only on ios 17.3.1

So I recently started seeing more and more users starting to get issues fetching products and this is the error they get after calling Purchases.shared.getOfferings:There is an issue with your configuration. Check the underlying error for more details. There's a problem with your configuration. None of the products registered in the RevenueCat dashboard could be fetched from App Store Connect (or the StoreKit Configuration file if one is being used). More information: https://rev.cat/why-are-offerings-empty After investigating it, from what I've seen, it only is happening for users on iOS 17.3.1. For all other users, it seems to be okay and has been working successfully.I’m wondering if anyone knows what could be causing this / also happening to them?

How do I get he product info from the productIdentifier

I am using RevenueCat for inline purchase and I would like to be able to show the data in the attached image. In particular, I need to show following subscription data:subscription name: Was able to get entitlementInfo.identifier but I need entitlementInfo.description. I could not get that.purchase value: Can't get that from entitlementInfo.subscription period: Can't get that from entitlement info.expirationDate: was able to get it from entitlementInfo.expirationDateIn the entitlementInfo there is a property called productIdentifier which can help me get some of the data I want. But I will need to map productIdentifier to the correct package. Does anyone knows how to do that?

Unexpected behaviors when crossgrading from Google monthly legacy plan to the new unified Google yearly plan

Our team is currently integrating the option to cross-grade between monthly ↔ yearly subsctiptions.Most of our Android users are on old Google legacy subcription plans. A few months ago, we updated to RevenueCat Purchases v6 and also created a new “unified” subscription with 2 base plans, one for monthly and one for yearly.So the subcriptions we have look like this:Legacy Subscriptions:app_regular_subscription (for monthly) app_regular_subscription_yearlyNew Subscription (used since we upgraded to RevenueCat v6 a month ago)app_subscription_unified (with 2 base plans: app-subscription-monthly and app-subscription-yearly) While testing different scenarios in Sandbox mode, I found out that there are some unexpected behaviors when crossgrading from app_regular_subscription (legacy - monthly) to app_subscription_unified:subscription-yearlyThe PRODUCT_CHANGE webhook event doesn’t come when the user effectively changes the current plan, instead, the webhook event comes roughly one second afte

When is an anonymous App ID really changed?

HiI want to implement a Free 3 day Trial period before purchasing.I would like to use “FirstSeen” from purchaserInfo. Documentation means that:“ In the event that the user deletes and reinstalls the app, a new random App User ID will be generated.”But when testing and uninstalling/reinstalling… i always got the same AppUserID and the FirstSeen doesnt change - that would be fine… but the docu says other things. How is it actually? ThanksWalter

iOS: reliably get originalApplicationVersion without prompting for AppStore login

Hello all,I’d like to check the originalApplicationVersion for my iOS app, without prompting the user to login to their AppStore account.Your “converting a paid iOS app to subscription” blogpost has the following code, which looks like it should do what I want:if let receiptURL = Bundle.main.appStoreReceiptURL,   let _ = try? Data(contentsOf: receiptURL) {    Purchases.shared.restoreTransactions { (info, error) in        completion?(info)    }} This implies that it’s safe to call restoreTransactions if we’re certain that there is a receipt on the device.However, the (recently renamed) restoreTransactions function has a refresh policy of .always, which I suspect might prompt the user to login.So my questions:will restoreTransactions ever prompt for AppStore login if there is a receipt on the device? if that function might prompt, is there a reliable way to get originalApplicationVersion from an on-device receipt without prompting?Thank-you!  Matthew

Crossgrades testing on iOS (sandbox)

From The Ultimate Guide to iOS Subscription TestingBecause the sandbox environment doesn’t have a subscription management UI like the production App Store, you’ll need to expose buttons or other means within the app to test purchases that trigger upgrades, downgrades, and cross grades. I’m a bit confused on what to do to test a crossgrade. I have two plans, same level, different duration (annual and monthly). When I test in sandbox switching from monthly to annual, in Customer History I see the renewal events of the monthly one, then the change of renewal preference to annual, but then it stops renewing on either plan. On my I app I end up as if I just cancelled and not subscribed again. Is this expected from the limitations as quoted above? If so, is there anything I can do to test this further or is that enough to assume it will work in production?

Cordova Plugin Purchases not working at all on IOS

I have installed cordova-plugin-purchases on my app which works fine on the android version.But on IOS while i am following all the documentation on both physical device and simulator and while my setup seems ok, i cannot trigger any purchases related action/function.I did all the stuff described here: Testing purchases in App Store SandboxThe actual behavior seems like all plugin functions are empty of code.I do not get either a success or an error callback at all from whatever method i ‘ve tried to call.I have tried in both actual devices and simulator with xcode builds.If needed i can post sample code.

Major issue with RevenueCat Paywall on iPad / iPhone Pro Max landscape mode

Hi, I’m using UIKit so I don’t know if this is also a problem with a SwiftUI implementation, but I just noticed a major issue with RevenueCat Paywalls.When you’re using an iPad (or an iPhone Pro Max in Landscape mode) and setting up the paywall with displayCloseButton: true, the paywall is either completely blank or with a split-view menu on the leftI tried a bunch of stuff to try to lock the PaywallViewController to portrait mode but none of it worked. I upload a screenshot took on an iPad Pro 11’’ running iPadOS 17 and the 2 others are from my iPhone 15 Pro Max running iOS 17.(the same bug happens on iOS 15 and 16)

Showing loader after IAP before confirmation?

When showing the IAP action sheet there is some delay upon a purchase attempt and a response from apple confirming success to trigger the SDK callback, this leaves the user a bit confused whats going on... This all goes on inside the RC `purchasePackage` method where it doesnt let me know the time period between user confirming purchase and the callback received from the SDK that its all been doneIs there a way to handle for this?

Subscription not transferred when using another device with same account

Recently, we have run into cases where using multiple Android devices leaves our users in a state where they have no entitlements. Repro Steps:1.) On the RevenueCat dashboard, set “Restore Behavior" to “Transfer Purchases”.2.) On Device #1….  - Log into Google Play with your account.  - Install our app.  - Launch our app (configure() is called at startup with a null user ID)  - Create an account. (login() is called with the new user ID)  - While logged into this new account, purchase a subscription managed by RevenueCat.3.) On Device #2…  - Log into Google Play with the same account from Step 2.  - Install our app.  - Launch our app (configure() is called at startup with a null user ID)  - Do not log in yet.6.) Notice that the subscription that was purchased on Device #1 is transferred from the user’s account to the anonymous user that was created when the application was launched for the first time on Device #2. Testing Agreement Interruption does not refresh purchaseinfo

Hi there! I’m using an App Store sandbox user, auto-renewable subscriptions, and have enabled the “Interrupt Purchases for This Tester” option in App Store Connect.When forcing the interruption, the `purchasePackage:` method fails with the correct error description.I’ve set my delegate to call the method `didReceiveUpdatedPurchaserInfo:`. After the user agrees to the new terms, the App Store window closes and confirms the purchase but the delegate method `didReceiveUpdatedPurchaserInfo:` isn’t called. If I try to purchase the subscription again, I’m told I already own it.I would expect the `didReceiveUpdatedPurchaserInfo:`delegate method to be called in this case. I’ve set up Apple Server-to-Server Notifications via the link provided by RevenueCat with no luck. Anyone know what might be going on?

What happens if we have to change the appUserId for the same user?

We used to have an old format for handling user ids that we currently use to initialize RevenueCat with. What are the downstream implications if we need to change the user id format for all users? More specifically:Would there be a chance that the client gets out of sync from Google Play/App Store?   What are the downstream implications in RevenueCat’s dashes/data reporting? Are there any other implications from changing the user id format? We are using Flutter so the code diff would be:# current codeawait Purchases.setup(_api, appUserId: oldUserIdString);# new codeawait Purchases.setup(_api, appUserId: newUserIdString);

Hi, there is information in the documentationAlso, if you are user of RevenueCat, grace periods for Apple and Google are automatically detected and handled by our receipt server and SDK. How can I check that user has grace period in this time? I want to show alert for him.Thanks

Can't upgrade Cordova plugin

Expo RevenueCat using TestFlight - The receipt is not valid

I have integrated into our React Native Expo app RevenueCat, following all the guides step by step.I publish the app to TestFlight today and I can see the purchase popup and product information correctly. After purchasing the product I see a message saying: “You’re all set, your purchase was successfull.”And just after that message we are doing an alert with the value of “productIdentifier” property.const {customerInfo, productIdentifier} = await Purchases.purchasePackage(expertAdvicePackage); Alert.alert(JSON.stringify(productIdentifier));The alert shows this: We already checked bundle id and app shared secret and everything matches exactly as in the AppStore. This is killing me because I can’t pass this point and need to move this into production asap. Appreciate any help or advice. Kind regards,

Flutter package - payment slow

Our app has been rejected by Apple because the payment process is very slow. Payment sheet takes about 5 seconds to load and then an additional 4 to 5 seconds to complete payment. We are using sandbox for testing and the package version purchases_flutter: ^4.11.2We simply use the following line to purchase a product. await Purchases.purchaseProduct(‘productid’)The configuration is all correct and payment goes through. It’s just sooo slow.I would expect the payment sheet to show up pretty quickly. IAP products have been defined in the App Store as consumable products and in revenuecat as well.Are we missing something? Is this a known issue with this package?Thank you

Configure timeout for HTTPClient

Hey there, I have looked online and in the forums but could not find a way to configure the HTTPClient with customable timeout.Basically from my code overview (iOS SDK - https://github.com/RevenueCat/purchases-ios) the HTTPClient is internal to the SDK and you cannot configure it - am I wrong?We suffered from long timeout today which caused our application to hang.It could be a nice addition to the Purchases singleton API to add additional configuration for different underlying services the default o60 seconds of NSURLSession is obsolete.I also encoutered this PR - https://github.com/RevenueCat/purchases-ios/pull/910 that enabled timeout for SKProductRequest - again allowing to configure it from outside of the SDK could be handy.

Users often lose subscription when logging into an existing account

My project offers a website and an app. Most users start on the web, then later download the app. They frequently encounter a problem in the following scenario.StepsWebsite: Create an account. Upon login, the site asks the RevenueCat REST API if the user has an existing subscription. Since the account doesn’t exist in this scenario, RevenueCat creates it, according to the documentation. Device A: Install the app and receive an anonymous RevenueCat ID. Log into the account previously created on the web. As mentioned in this table, RevenueCat automatically merges the anonymous ID with the app ID. The user’s one alias slot is now used up. Device A after logout/reinstall, or on Device B: Receive a new anonymous RevenueCat ID. See an offer to upgrade (usually during app onboarding) and subscribe. Later, log into the existing account to access user data. RevenueCat does not merge the anonymous ID with the existing app user ID, so it now reports that the user does not have an active subscript

SKAdNetwork - Listen to Trial conversion events app side

Hi, We are trying to use SKAdNetwork to track trial starts and trial conversions via Branch. While working with Branch customer support, they suggested we track these natively via BranchEvents so that the events would be captured by SKAN. This is easy for trial starts since we get a callback on device when the trial starts. However, for trial conversions, we need to do this client side as well to have them registered via SKAN. Is there an easy way to do this? One way I thought about doing this would be to set up `addPurchaserInfoUpdateListener` in the app and an async storage valuue to set this listener until if fires and then check if the user info changes to subscribed or cancelled. This seems a little convoluted though so I wanted to see if there was an easier way. As an aside, the Branch docs should probably be updated with a note around SKAdNetwork as we spent a lot of time trying to debug why we were getting no attribution data and it was because the events were coming server sid

Android app with different package ids for development and production not able to fetch products

Hello everyone,It’s a bit unclear if it’s possible to have a single Android app with 2 package ids (development and production), with 2 configured apps in the RevenueCat backoffice, and a single app in Google Play Console.We are getting an error every time we try to get the products with our .dev suffixed app"There's a problem with your configuration. None of the products registered in the RevenueCat dashboard could be fetched from the Play Store."Is the only way around this to create a new app in Google Play Console with this .dev bundle?It baffles us, because this works perfectly well with Google Billing Client, without the need of any additional app on the Google Play Console.Thank you for your help!

Not able to fetch subscription from amazon app store.

I am trying to integrate revenue cat with one of my amazon Fire TV Sticks app. I have followed the steps described in the docs and created the product and sku’s required for it and configured the same on the revenue cat. Flutter Purchases.getOfferings return nothing for i os
