Clarification on “paymentPendingError” . What does this error code mean?

Hello,

While reviewing my app analytics, I noticed that some user purchases failed with the error code “paymentPendingError.”

I couldn’t find much documentation or discussion about this specific error online, so I have a few questions:

  • Is this error caused by something on my app’s side or on the user’s side?

  • If it’s on my side, what steps should I take to resolve or prevent it?

  • If it’s on the user’s side, how should I guide them? Is there anything specific I can suggest (e.g., retrying, restoring purchases, etc.)?

Any insights or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Hi! Here is our documentation on this error. As we explain in the documentation, this is an issue on the user’s end with their payment method, so you do not need to worry about any issues within your app itself. In terms of helping your user to resolve this issue, I would recommend that you notify them that the purchase is pending and that they should check to see if Apple or Google Play has sent them a message in order to complete this message.
