How can I manually cancel an auto-renewable subscription while testing in the iOS sandbox?

I’m testing subscriptions with RevenueCat. I want to simulate a user canceling their subscription and verify that RevenueCat updates the entitlement correctly. I’m using TestFlight. I can’t find the subscription under Settings → Subscriptions or the Sandbox account settings to cancel it manually.

Is there currently a supported way to cancel a sandbox subscription, or is waiting for it to expire the only option

Hey @darya-abdullahzadeh-62e4f3 ,

If you’re testing with a Sandbox Apple Account, you can manually disable auto renewal for a subscription by going to:

Settings → Developer → Sandbox Apple Account → Manage → Subscriptions

From there, select the subscription and tap Cancel Subscription. Apple documents this testing flow here:
https://developer.apple.com/documentation/storekit/testing-disabling-auto-renew

If you’re testing through TestFlight without a Sandbox Apple Account (for example, using your regular Apple ID), there isn’t a supported way to manually cancel the sandbox subscription. In that case, you’ll need to wait for the accelerated TestFlight sandbox subscription to expire automatically after its test renewals.

RevenueCat also has documentation on Apple sandbox testing here:
https://www.revenuecat.com/docs/test-and-launch/sandbox/apple-app-store

Hey @darya-abdullahzadeh-62e4f3,

Thanks for the post! Matt from RevenueCat here.

@Crudyg123 gave a great explanation, and I can confirm that's the approach we'd recommend as well.

If you have any follow-up questions, or if anything isn't behaving as expected while testing, just let us know and we'd be happy to help!

Thanks,
