We would like to grant some email addresses free access to our product. However, we would like to do this before they create an account. Is there a way to set up a customer with an email and an entitlement and then grant them the entitlement on sign up?

Hey Jake,
In order to grant users a promotional entitlement, you would need to have their app user ID already. Once these users have an app user ID, you can grant them an entitlement by using our Rest API or the dashboard. If these users dont have app user ID’s you unfortunately will not be able to grant them the entitlements yet.
