Hello,

I have a custom paywall and I would like to programmatically open a web browser from my app to direct users to the revenue cat external checkout page. Given the recent changes allowing external payments for U.S. users, I want to confirm the safest way to implement this.

What is the recommended approach to determine whether I can open an external payment link—particularly to ensure compliance with Apple’s guidelines and avoid any risk of App Store rejection?

Thank you for your help.

Best regards

Hey @DevTec ,

as you rightly noted, with the recent Apple changes, you can now direct U.S. iOS users to an external payment page. But there are still important rules to follow to stay compliant (e.g keep in app purchases in your app, only show to U.S. users, disclosure screen, etc).

To be sure to be compliant, our recommendation is to use the Web Purchase Button. It takes care of all the above mentioned and does the heavy lifting for you overall.

Here’s a few resources to help you get started:

Let me know if that helps or if you have any more questions - happy to help!

Best,
Gui
