App Store Rejection - Receipt is mising

I’ve submitted my app to the Apple App Store and keep getting rejected for the error “Receipt is missing”.

How can I simulate the exact method Apple uses to test apps?  Whenever I test using either:

  1. Xcode + a physical device + sandbox account or
  2. TestFlight + non-sandbox App ID

the subscriptions go through successfully.  Hence I have a few questions:

  1. How do I replicate the error the app review team get so I can debug?
  2. In my scheme settings through Xcode before I submit my app, do I need to set the field StoreKit Configuration to “None”?  Or can I leave this selected on my StoreKit config file when I submit my app?
  3. How do I use this receipt validation link?  https://www.revenuecat.com/apple-receipt-validation/.  There are no directions for use on the website.  What do I need to enter in the first field which states “Paste your receipt”?
  4. I’ve been given this link by the App Review team.  https://developer.apple.com/library/archive/technotes/tn2413/_index.html#//apple_ref/doc/uid/DTS40016228-CH1-RECEIPTURL
How do I use the link https://sandbox.itunes.apple.com/verifyReceipt?  Do I paste this into Safari on my physical device?  If so, I get {"status":21000} which is “The request to the App Store was not made using the HTTP POST request method”.

Overall I’m really struggling to get my app approved because of this error.  I’m not sure if this is something on RevenueCat’s side or Apple’s side, but looking online, this seems to be a common error and there doesn’t seem to be any good information on how to fix which is really disappointing.

This is Apple issue, don’t struggle, just resubmit and write Apple anything or nothing.

I have resubmitted several times, but I still get rejected for the same error.

For anyone wondering it took me 3 attempts with no code changes to get my app approved.  Something clearly wrong with Apple’s review process which is frustrating as a developer.

I know what you say, but you can’t argue with Apple in this specific rejection.  Sad!
