Web Paywall Link | Error 16

Forum|alt.badge.img

Hello!

I am moving from my Stripe Web PayLink implementation to Revenue Cat. I want to have everything managed my RevenueCat.

I have create an entire and simple Web PayLink configuration that duplicate (or similar to) the one I have on Stripe.

However, just this no-code implementation is erroneous.

The error code returned is: 16. The error is trigger just right after I entered / confirmed the billing email address.

My PayWall address, where 1 is the user id, is the following:
https://pay.rev.cat/yhhjrzrccqdonyxj/1

Screenshot of the error:

Thank you!

Hi @jeanniton.mnr ,

I took a look at your case, the issue is that you’re trying to purchase in production, while your connected Stripe Account is a test mode account, which means that you are only able to make Sandbox purchases. If you want to test your Web Paywall Link, you should be able to do it using the “Sandbox URL”.

In order to test a production purchase, you need to either activate your connected Stripe account or connect another Stripe account that is already active to RevenueCat.

We will make this error clearer because it’s very cryptic. Thank you for reporting and let us know if you have any other issue.

I have it working now - thanks to you quick answer.

Btw, I am still thinking about using Stripe app / payment provider because RevenueCat Web Billing does required credit card to enroll in a trial subscription.

  1. Can I use the same Stripe profile to connect a *Stripe web app / payment provider* and a *Revenue Cat Web Billing app / payment provider*?
  1. Do you plan to make credit optional upon enrolling in a trial subscription on web? This can significantly reduce friction upon customer onboarding and subscribing to any app product.

Yes, you can use the same Stripe account for multiple RC Web Billing and Stripe apps

Not for now, but I’ve passed this feedback to the team. We might reach out to know more about your use case, if that’s OK with you.

Cheers,

Antonio

Stripe already features trial subscriptions without a payment method upon enrollment.

A user just don't to have provide a pm (payment method) upon enrollment.

I feel I gain much trust from the user, and the user also have less friction because he doesn't have to type a payment information just to try a new product.

This can increases conversion rate.

Upon or before the trial expiration, an email can be send to the customer to provide a payment to keep the (paid) subscription active.
