Google Play recently sent an email announcing the new Review Refund API:

“We are excited to share that the Review Refund API is now available to help you take an active role in managing chargebacks. This optional API enables you to share key transaction information with Play — such as item usage.”

Does RevenueCat have plans to support integration with this API? If so, is there a timeline for when this functionality will be available?

Hi @sia ,

I'm Tarek from the Developer Support team, thanks for reaching out and for keeping an eye on this.

Yes, Google's new Review Refund API is definitely something we're planning to support.

Google only published the API documentation on July 6, so the team started reviewing it right away, and the plan is to extend the same kind of refund request handling we already offer for Apple over to Google Play.

For reference, here's how the Apple side works today, since we expect the Google version to behave in a similar way:https://www.revenuecat.com/docs/platform-resources/apple-platform-resources/handling-refund-requests

On timing, I don't have a firm release date to share just yet. The API is very new and we're still scoping the work. One thing worth noting from Google's initial release is that it currently only covers chargeback refunds, so the first version will be scoped only to what Google offers.

The best place to catch the announcement once it's live is our changelog:https://www.revenuecat.com/changelog

I'm also happy to keep you posted right here once we have more concrete details if you prefer!

Best regards,
