Question

Inconsistent currency display issue in our app

Forum|alt.badge.img

We are experiencing inconsistent currency display during testing in TestFlight. All subscription prices are already correctly configured in App Store Connect for all countries and regions.

  • Custom Paywall UI / RevenueCat Paywall: Prices retrieved from RevenueCat offerings are displayed in USD ($).

  • Apple In-App Purchase Sheet: Prices are correctly displayed in INR (₹).

I came across a similar post discussing this issue that was published around seven months ago. I would like to confirm whether there have been any updates or changes since then, and whether this behavior is still expected or if there is now a recommended solution.

RevenueCat’s current TestFlight docs still describe this exact mismatch: Offerings and paywalls can show USD while Apple’s purchase sheet shows the correct local currency. RevenueCat passes through the product metadata returned by StoreKit, which can be inconsistent in sandbox.

The recommended checks are that your Apple ID’s Media & Purchases country matches the storefront you’re testing, purchases complete successfully, the expected entitlement unlocks, and your paywall isn’t hardcoding a currency.

There isn’t a guaranteed TestFlight fix listed in that guidance. This mismatch alone doesn’t establish a pricing configuration problem. Production metadata is generally more reliable, but it’s still worth verifying the released build’s prices.

Hi there,

Yes, I can confirm that behavior you are seeing is still expected in TestFlight (thanks @Crudyg123 for sharing the link also, the Currency section speaks exactly about this).

In general, with TestFlight, I would recommend testing to ensure that the purchase flow can be completed (purchase completes and the entitlement unlocks), and not about making sure the prices and metadata are accurate.

Best regards,
