Apple has allowed apps to use external purchases. Can this API be used via revenuecat? Will there be such support in the future?

We will consider supporting it if Apple broadens its support.
For the time being, it looks like it is hard to use from a customer perspective. There are some gnarly-looking warnings before you start the flow, you have to publish as a separate app / bundle id, and there is still a 27% commission.
If Apple removes some of those restrictions and it gains more usage we would support it.
