Hi All,

hoping for some help as I’m stuck. We’ve built an app in Flutter using Revenue Cat paywall. Products and subscriptions enables in App store and listed as ready for review.

when I submit I get this error. I am only using a revenue cat paywall. App is only available in IOS App Store and Playstore no other option to purchase. 
 

no idea how to resolve or where to start.

Guideline 3.1.1 - Business - Payments - In-App Purchase

 

We noticed that your app includes or accesses paid digital content, services, or functionality by means other than in-app purchase, which is not appropriate for the App Store. Specifically:

 

- The subscription can be purchased in the app using payment mechanisms other than in-app purchase.


 

Next Steps

 

The paid digital content, services, or subscriptions included in or accessed by your app must be available for purchase in the app using only in-app purchase.

 

Apps that offer paid digital services and content across multiple platforms may allow customers to access the content they acquired outside the app as long as it is also available for purchase using in-app purchase. See Guideline 3.1.3(b) Multiplatform Services for more information.

It looks like an issue from the Apple reviewer, my recommendation would be to resubmit it and add a note to the reviewer explaining your business model and making sure it’s all clear that you are only using in-app purchases.

@joan-cardona you are correct! After hours of investigation it seems the Apple reviewer forgot to approve our “products” when they approved V1.0.2 of our app. You can only submit products to Apple (in app subscriptions in our case) after you have submitted a new build and we followed these requirements but Apple missed a step in their review process. Once we identified that our version of the App had a status of “Ready for Distribution” but our subscriptions status was “Waiting on Review” we knew the issue was on Apple’s end. 

 

To Apple’s credit however they responded quickly to our expedited review request ticket as well as our subscription product approval ticket which can both be raised on the Developer site under your organization. Hopefully if someone else has an app go live and get a gray screen paywall this will be a good first check to save a lot of time and headache. If Paywall appears blank and solid color screen only it may mean your Approval In App Products (subscriptions or IAP) are pending approval on the Apple side.
