Any update on Unity Paywall UI support?

Hi everyone,

I’ve seen older posts about RevenueCat working on Paywalls UI support for Unity, but nothing concrete has been released yet. Our app is built in Unity, and right now managing paywalls requires developer work every time we want to test or update something.

Does anyone know if there’s an official timeline for Unity Paywalls UI (similar to what’s available on iOS/Android/Flutter)? Has there been any word from the team recently, or are there recommended workarounds in the meantime?

Thanks in advance!

Hi @erich-reiter-d62223,

Thank you for your interested in paywalls for Unity! It’s in our roadmap to bring support for Unity. The team is currently working on it and making progress - I cannot provide you with an ETA but we are actively working on it.

Best,

Hi Joan, Thank you for your answer. May I ask if the Unity Paywall SDK will include horizontal display library? The current revenuecat paywall library only consists of vertical paywalls.

Hi @erich-reiter-d62223,

Paywalls can be both vertical and horizontal right now, it depends on the device configuration and our Unity paywalls will behave the same way. Are you looking for something specific?

Hi @joan-cardona

Our app is displayed horizontal and I never had a chance to use the paywalls UI of revenue cat because we are an Unity app. I did not see any horizontal paywalls in the library of revenue cat paywall builder, that’s why I asked to be sure.

Thanks a lot!

@joan-cardona also very much looking forward to a Unity SDK. I know you don’t know the exact release date but are we talking a few weeks or a few months? 🙂

Actually really good question, because if it is not this year we might just develop a primitive version ourselves.

@joan-cardona ☝️ - is it a few weeks or a few months before we can start using the paywall builder for Unity?

Hi,

The beta version of Unity paywalls has been released! You can find it in this branch. Please keep in mind that this is a beta release, so if you encounter any bugs or unexpected behavior, report them so we can address them quickly.

We just released Unity paywalls beta-2, with some small breaking changes on beta-1 and some new stuff (we now offer a MonoBehaviour implementation as well).

Here's the link -> https://github.com/RevenueCat/purchases-unity/releases/tag/8.3.0-paywalls.beta.2

Please let us know if you have any feedback before we make the API stable. Thank you!

Just in time!

I just made a Paywall for unity then I realized it shows it’s not available for Unity.

Now I came across to this! I’m going to try it.

I have tested paywall and it’s working without issues. Prepared a build for Appstore. Thanks!

@ozs were you able to alter the paywall from the revenuecat portal with this SDK?

@erich-reiter-d62223 Yes.

However, I see some visual issues between Paywall designer, iOS and Android apps.

I don’t think they are related to Unity. I see the visual problems in the RevenueCat app preview too.

Hi @ozs,

In which components are you seeing the discrepancy? Bear in mind that the paywalls adapt to space based on the constraint rules defined in the builder.

Happy to be using the new Unity SDK!

There are a few UI issues - unless it’s something we’re doing wrong on our end:

  1. Paywalls open from bottom to top in the iOS UI. This makes it feel non-native. How to just have it appear like a normal screen?
  2. On Android, we’re seeing a whit gap at the top of each paywall:

Hi @JohnnyApp,

Thank you for the feedback!

Right now the only option in Unity is the modal presentation of the paywall but it’s in our roadmap to include being able to present it in different ways (like push).

About the Android issue, you can wrap the header image in a StackComponent parent with a Z-stack axis, that should help avoid this issue.

Let me know if it helps!
