Hi! I’m using Paywall Builder to design my app’s paywall and recently added a video component for the first time. When I open the paywall in the app, the video starts playing, but after a few seconds the entire video area goes dark.

If I close and re-open the paywall, the video then plays normally in a loop with no issues.

Has anyone experienced this before, or know what might be causing the video to go dark on the first load? Any guidance would be appreciated!

I use the following template paywall:

Hey, thanks for reporting this!

I found and fixed a bug for iOS like the one you’re describing already, so I’m hoping it’s a simple version update for you. That went out in the Flutter SDK versioned 9.9.6

Would you confirm that on that version and later that this bug still occurs?

I installed the latest version, 9.9.7, but the problem persists. I, first, encountered the problem on the version 9.9.6 btw.

Well, it appears that by fixing it for my build setup, I broke it for yours… I have ideas on how to fix it, and I will look into that.

Okay. I have a potential fix I’m going to ship soon. It will probably be out in the next Flutter release.

Thanks for your interest! purchases_flutter 9.9.8 was released recently. Does it solve the problem?

No. Unfortunately, the PR is still in review.

Hi again, just wanted to drop a quick update here, as the PR #5926 has been merged and should be made available on the next release!

Please keep an eye out for it and let us know how it works for you then.

Best,

Experiencing this issue in iOS native SDK too. Will the fix be deployed there too?

@Jeramo the normal flow of updates is from the Native SDKs → hybrids, so the update was made live on the iOS SDK first on version 5.51.0.

Are you still seeing issues from that version onwards?
