Use Redemption Links for Gift Subscriptions

Redemption links are a great step towards gift subscriptions. All that would be necessary is the ability to add a gift recipient email, and possibly the time the gift email should be sent.

Thanks for reaching out, and sharing such valuable feedback.

Today, Redemption Links are designed to let someone complete a web purchase and then associate that purchase with an in-app user by opening a one-time deep link. A couple constraints make “scheduled gifting” tricky right now:

  • They expire after 60 minutes and are one-time use, since they’re generated right after checkout completes.

  • RevenueCat doesn’t currently provide a built-in way to attach a separate gift recipient email or schedule sending the link (RevenueCat’s web-related emails are lifecycle/receipt-style messages tied to the purchaser/billing email, not a gift recipient).

I’ve shared your feedback with our product team. I can’t promise if/when this will be implemented, but rest assured it’s with the right folks and on their radar. Appreciate you taking the time to post this!
