Step order prior to sandbox testing in Apple Store

Hello, I’m finding it confusing trying to get an app with recurring subscriptions into the Apple Connect Store. I can’t find the right order for these steps. I’m hoping someone can clarify this.

Check everything works in RevnueCat Test Store.

Configure Revenue Cat and app stores for Google/Apple

Submit app for approval with subscriptions in Google - now green ticks appear

Submit app for approval with subscriptions to Apple - waiting for review appears, and app was rejected

For both of these I commented out the paywall and said so in the notes, that subscriptions were there, but unactivated. That was ok for Google, but not Apple.

Am I doing these steps in the right order? What have I missed?

Hi @bruce_scotland , before submitting your Apple app to review, you will want to first make sure everything works with testing. To test your Apple products they must be in the “Ready to Submit” or “Approved” state if you do submit your products for review, and looking at your dashboard I can see they are currently “Waiting for Review.” You will need to wait for Apple to approve or reject your products as this will have it revert to one of those two states and you will then be able to test to make sure your app works properly with the products. Please follow our testing guide here for more details and before submitting your app see our checklist here. If you have already tested everything before submitting it for review, can you share with me the rejection message Apple gave you?

Your Google credentials and products look good, you should be able to test them following our guide here.

Hi Bruce,

It’d be helpful to confirm exactly why your app was rejected. You can do so by selecting your app in Apple Store Connect, on the left menu you’ll see the ‘App Review’ option under ‘General’, click on your submission and you’ll be able to see the feedback the reviewer left.

Haley, thanks for confirming the process steps for Apple. This is useful to know. I’ve now hit other issues with Apple, which will slow down that side of getting subscriptions going.

The Google one all looks ok, but hits ‘error 23: … configuration’ which I’m trying to resolve with the checklist. I’ve found a few steps I’d missed. Now slowly waiting for settings to take affect … always waiting it seems.

Haley,

I found the issue with my error 23 issue thanks to an old post that told someone else about a possible issue. I followed that, and voila Android now works in my closed test. Hurrah! One more step closer… It’s a good day. :)

Haley, I just double-checked. the step I mention above, is not in the Google Checklist so it might be worth adding it to that.
