Question

Paywall v2 - wrong package showing as default

Forum|alt.badge.img

Hello! I have a paywall editor query.

I have a tab for yearly vs. 3 months. I have selected annual as the default package, but when I test on my phone, it defaults to 3 months. Has anyone else had this issue and found a fix? The packages are pulling through correctly in the bottom box when annual/3 months are selected.

I have also tested it by attaching one of our offerings to a template paywall and am having the same issue.

Any help / guidance hugely appreciated!

Hey Samantha! Sorry for the confusion. The Selected by default property you’re looking at is actually meant to control which package is selected if >1 packages are shown to a customer in one tab or outside of tabs.

Instead, you’re looking for the Default tab property on the Tabs component. If you click on Tabs in your component list, you’ll see Default tab at the top of the properties panel and can choose between Yearly and 3 months.

You should be set after that, but let me know if you have any questions!

Hey Dan. Thanks so much for the speedy reply. I have yearly selected in tab > default tab too, so not sure what else it could be?

Hey Dan - just thought I’d add that I’m testing this in TestFlight rather than being live on the stores.

I’ve tried to trick it into defaulting the yearly by just renaming the labels and respective packages, and it defaults to ‘annual’, how I’d want it to.

This is making me wonder if it’s just a TestFlight issue?

Thanks!

Hi Samantha, thanks for the follow up! It’s certainly possible, though there shouldn’t be any difference in the behavior between TestFlight and production in that regard. An alternate troubleshooting step would be to reorder the tabs to change which is one is positioned “first” going left to right and see if that results in yearly being default selected, but either way the property in the paywall editor should be controlling that.

I’ve got one of our engineers looking into it and will follow up here once I’ve got an update.

Hey Dan - I tested it live after posting the previous message and still had the same issue, so not a TF thing. I also just moved the tab positioning around and that also had no impact. Thanks for getting an engineer to take a look :)

Hi Samantha! Just wanted to follow up and confirm that it looks like the ability to modify which tab is selected by default is not supported in the SDKs yet, so sorry about the confusion there. The SDKs will pre-select the first tab in the list each time (the tab furthest to the left).

Support for this in the SDKs will be added soon, though!

Let me know if you have any additional questions in the meantime.
