I am new to revenue cat and would appreciate some help here. I see that revenue cat supports monthly grant cadence for in-app virtual currencies attached to subscription products (monthly, annual etc). I am wondering if that functionality extends to lifetime products (non-consumable types).
In my app, i would like to provide a lifetime purchase that will grant a certain currency indefinitely per month with auto-expiry at the end of a month duration.
Is this possible with revenue cat?
RevenueCat’s monthly grant cadence currently only applies to subscriptions. A lifetime nonconsumable grants its configured currency amount when purchased, but it won’t automatically issue another grant each month. This is covered in the grant cadence docs.
There’s also a restriction on the expiry part: RevenueCat’s expiring currencies docs say currency granted through one time purchases cannot expire, citing Apple’s App Store rules.
If you’re open to a subscription, an annual plan can use Monthly under “Grant currency on” with automatic expiration enabled. Each month’s unused grant then expires when the next one arrives, and the final grant expires at the end of the billing cycle. That gives you the monthly allowance and reset you described, but RevenueCat doesn’t currently provide that setup for a lifetime purchase.
