Hi everyone! đź‘‹

New to RevenueCat here - I'm building a cross-platform app (iOS, Android, and web) and I've already invested significant time creating custom paywalls that work well for my use case.

I was excited to try RevenueCat Paywalls to potentially simplify things, but I ran into a couple of friction points I wanted to share:

1. No way to export/import paywall configuration

Building a paywall in the UI takes quite a bit of time, especially when you're trying to match an existing design. It would be incredibly helpful if there was an option to export the paywall configuration as JSON or XML. This would allow us to:

  • Use AI tools to help generate or modify paywall configs
  • Version control our paywall designs
  • Quickly iterate without manual UI clicking

Has anyone found a workaround for this?

2. Missing floating/sticky CTA button option

My current paywall is fairly long (feature comparisons, testimonials, etc.) and I use a floating subscription button that stays fixed at the bottom of the screen as users scroll. I couldn't find this option in the RevenueCat paywall templates.

Is this something that's on the roadmap? Or am I missing where to configure this?

Would love to hear if others have faced similar challenges or found creative solutions. Also curious if the RC team has plans to address these - they'd make adoption much smoother for folks with existing paywalls!

Thanks!

Hey @sbeno - thanks for those questions!

Starting on the “sticky” button option, have you tried having a Stack component on the Z axis (right hand side of the editor) and see if that works as you expect it to?

Alternatively, you could try having a fixed sized Footer component that already stays fixed at the bottom of the screen while your main content scrolls behind it. Just add a Footer to your paywall in the editor and put your CTA button inside it. This should work for a longer paywall, but let me know how it goes!

As for the export/import workflow, that is indeed some friction the team is aware of. While there isn't a direct JSON export/import feature yet, we just launched something that might actually solve this for you: the RevenueCat Figma Plugin. Instead of clicking through the UI to recreate your design, you can now design your paywall in Figma and export it directly to RevenueCat with one click.

You still get all the benefits of RevenueCat's experimentation and remote configuration, but you can iterate in Figma and push updates way faster.

Check out the full tutorial and docs to see the workflow in action. This should make the transition from your existing custom paywalls much smoother!

Let me know if you have any other questions, happy to help.

That very helpful, I wasn’t aware of the Footer. thank you!

Looking forward to see when I can use AI to generate those, it can be much easier and faster.Â
