I had the design I wanted for phone and then switched to a tablet thinking that you all saved the phone version. I went to adjust that because it didn’t fit right on a tablet, and it messed up my phone design. Do you all not have a way to do phone and tablet separately? I’m not well versed with the design but on varying platforms, when I switch it has a separation for phone and tablet and one doesn’t affect the other.

Hi,

Thank you for reaching out. I'm Tarek from the support team, and I'll happily help you figure this out.

Unfortunately, our Paywall Editor currently only supports a single design per paywall.

The phone/tablet toggle is only used to preview. It changes the device frame you're previewing in, but there's only one underlying design behind it, so any edit you make applies to both. That's why your phone version changed when you tweaked the tablet view.

Here are a few things that might help in the meantime:

  • Use scalable sizing, such as "Fill" / "Fit" widths, and scaled padding. Those will help achieve consistent results.
  • On iOS, if you're using presentPaywallIfNeeded, the SDK already shows the paywall as a roughly iPhone-sized modal on iPad by default. So unless you've opted into a full-screen iPad layout, you can sidestep most of the fit problem (docs).
  • Feel free to flip through the device sizes in the editor preview while you're designing to catch layouts that break on larger screens.

I'll be more than happy to take a look if you want to share the design and what's not fitting.

Best regards,
