This is more of an apple app store question as opposed to any issue with RevenueCat…

I recently changed the annual subscription price for my iOS app from $4.99/year to $9.99/year. This change went into effect approximately 4-5 days ago. If I look in the app store, it shows the correct price. However, when I view my transactions in RevenueCat, all of my renewals continue to show $4.99.

All new annual subscriptions come with a 30 day free trial so I won’t know what price they will be charged until the end of their trial.

Can someone please explain to me why this is happening? Thanks!

Hi Joshua,

Thanks for reaching out — great question!

What you're seeing is expected behavior based on how the App Store handles subscription price changes. When you update the price of an existing subscription in App Store Connect, only new subscribers going forward will be subject to the new price (in your case, $9.99/year). Existing subscribers will remain grandfathered in at the original price ($4.99/year) unless you explicitly choose to increase their price by opting into a price increase with consent flow in App Store Connect.

Since you mentioned that your change went into effect 4–5 days ago and all new subscriptions have a 30-day free trial, RevenueCat will only reflect the new $9.99 price once those trials convert and the first paid transaction is processed by Apple. Until then, you'll continue seeing $4.99 for all renewals from grandfathered users.

Hope this helps, Let me know if you have any other questions.

Best,

Hussain
