If you remove an app with an in-app subscription from the App Store, what happens? I assume no new customers can download the app. But can existing downloads still purchase the subscription? Will existing customers be charged for renewals? Does Apple notify the user that the app is no longer available?

Removing an app from sale would not be able to remove the app from a user’s phone, but it would stop new users from being able to download it, and I believe that Apple would automatically cancel any active subscriptions. You may need to remove your subscriptions from sale as well on App Store Connect. Your users will be notified of any changes.
