Paywalls not working on Android

Hi,

I’ve built several RC paywalls. They display correctly on iOS, but not Android. I think this started yesterday during the outage, but the problem persists today. Maybe a part of your system hasn’t refreshed?

See attached screenshot. That’s what the paywalls look like on Android. The products are correctly configured in Google Play, the Store Status is Published. The paywall is pulling the correct price. It’s really just the paywall design that’s not rendering.

This is happening for several of my paywalls, but here’s an example: New Default (offerId 3231). Name of app is Brightmind Meditation. Associated email is toby@brightmind.com

Please let me know if you have any follow up questions.

Thanks!

Toby

Hi @tobysola1,

Thank you for sharing it! I think this is due to some fixes in the latest versions of the SDK - upgrading it should work. We released fixes related to some templates and components that can affect the decoding of the paywall.

Best,

Update: Until this is resolved, I set up targeting for Android devices so an offerid whose paywall displays correctly shows. So the default paywall in my app now works, but it’s not the paywall I want. I want the default paywall to be the “New Default” paywall. If you want to trigger that in the app, from the Membership screen, click “I Have a Promo Code” and then enter “RC”. Please help!

Now it looks like there’s a bug where you can’t publish paywall updates? See this screen recording: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1thDw3vxxRMiNnbT8C08NBBXETYOLF4nJ/view?usp=sharing

Update: I think there was something buggy about my “New Default” paywall. As long as I duplicate other paywalls, they seem to work. I’m gonna try and recreate all my paywalls using this strategy and see if it works. Will report back!

Update: I’m all set! Holy crap, that was confusing. There was some bug associated with the now inactive “New Default” paywall. It worked on iOS but not Android. And whenever I duplicated it, the problem persisted. I used another paywall as a template to create all the new paywalls I needed, and they all worked. Phew! Any idea why the New Default paywall didn’t work on Android?

Hi @tobysola1,

Thank you for all the updates, I’m glad that it’s sorted now!

Do you mind sharing the SDK version and flavour that you are using? I’d like to dig into it further to understand what happened with your “New Default” paywall.

Best,

Hi Joan,

Here’s what we’re using:

purchases_flutter: 8.8.1
purchases_ui_flutter: 8.8.1

Let me know if you find anything. Thanks!
