We use revenuecat paywalls in our macOS apps, however the experience of designing paywalls with the paywalls editor isn’t great as only phone or tablet resolutions are supported as previews.

it would be great if we (as users) could define our own paywall preview size class in the editor, which would be representative of the window we show our paywalls in our app.

Hi @dabp ,

I'm Tarek from RevenueCat Developer Support, thanks for reaching out and for the suggestion, happy to help!

The paywall editor currently only shows phone, foldable and tablet previews today. It has no macOS preview, and you cannot set a custom preview size.

I can see why a preview that matches your paywall window matters for macOS apps.

We're constantly improving the editor and working to better support different sizes, but for now, I have a few tips that can help:

  1. Our SDK shows the same layout on every platform. When you show PaywallView in your own window, the paywall fills that window. So the tablet preview is the closest reference today. You can pick the tablet size that is closest to your window, and use the portrait or landscape toggle. The tablet sizes go from 768×1024 points (iPad mini) to 1024×1366 points (iPad Pro 12.9-inch).
  2. You can use Fit and Fill sizes instead of fixed sizes, so the layout follows the window width. For a wide window, you can also add a maximum width to a Fill size. The content then grows up to that width and stops there, so it stays readable. This needs version 5.93.0 or later of our iOS SDK. You can find the steps in our minimum and maximum sizes docs.
  3. To see the exact result, you can show the paywall in a debug build of your app. You can give that window the same size as your real paywall window. You can also use a separate test offering for this, so your users do not see a paywall before it is ready.

Let me know if that makes sense and if there's anything else I can help with!

Have an excellent day.

Best regards,
