How to handle duration of non-renewing subscription?

My app offers a one year auto-renewing subscription. I also need to offer a one week subscription that does not automatically renew.I am expecting the entitlement associated with the non-renewing subscription to be automatically revoked when the subscription expires, like it does when the user cancels an auto-renewing subscription.I am able to specify the duration for the non-renewing subscription on Google Play, but don’t see how to do it on App Store Connect.In searching the internet, it seems App Store Connect doesn’t support durations for non-renewing subscriptions.Has Revenue Cat come up with a workaround on iOS so that entitlements associated with a non-renewing subscription can be automatically revoked?Are entitlements automatically revoked on Android, at least?

Identify promotional offer in webhook

First of all, thank you for your great work.Is there a way to identify a webhook event is a promotional offer or not?We have a promotional offer in apple store: first month 50% off discount. Webhook events look like this:1. First event:{   …,   "period_type": "NORMAL",   “price_in_purchased_currency”: 10 }2. Second event:{   …,   "period_type": "NORMAL",  “price_in_purchased_currency”: 20}Which looks correct, however, we want to identify the first event as ‘promotional offer initial purchase` for our own record. It can be identified through ‘price_in_purchased_currency’ but it’ll get complicated since there are up to 200 currencies. We tried to add customer attribute to give more information when user buy promotional offer, but that goes to all events so it doesn’t really meet our needs.Just wondering if there’s another way to differentiate the initial ‘promotional offer’ subscription from following ‘normal’ subscription. Thanks a lot!

Does StoreKit Configuration under Product->Scheme need to be set to none in order to test in device

I’ve noticed that in order to see the purchase status reflected correctly under App Store → Sandbox Account → Subscriptions, I will need to set in Xcode Product->Scheme->StoreKit Configuration to none. But in doing so, I’m unable to retrieve the correct Trial offer eligibility information. On the other hand, if I set a value to the StoreKit configuration file, then I’m able to see the up to date trial offer eligibility info on Paywall, but the purchase won’t show up under App Store → Sandbox Account → Subscriptions, in spite of the success purchase confirmation.What is the proper way to test in the sandbox environment in this case? Please advise. Thank you.

React Native Android Free Trial Cancelled due to a billing error

I'm encountering an issue with all of my Play Store plans that offer a trial period. None of them are converting after the 7-day free trial period, and I always receive the following error message: The peculiar aspect is that this issue is specific to the Play Store; it works fine on iOS without any exceptions. Can you please assist me with this matter?

When I call getOfferings, discounts field is always an empty array even though there are promo offers configured for that store product in App Store Connect. What should I do?

Why use GIFs in the the documentation?

Whoever made the decision to use GIFs as visual demonstrations in the docs should be fired and publicly humiliated. Their thought process must have been, “Let’s make things extremely difficult to see, fast moving, and cannot be paused.”. It’s unbelievably frustrating. The documentation is very nuance and attention to detail is highest priority. Why not use a 30 second clip in video format that can be paused and rewinded …. ya know so people can actually see what they need to do 😂😂😂🤡🤡🤡?

How does charging user work if they upgrade/downgrade mid subscription?

If a user is half way through a ‘Plan A’ which cost £5pm - then they upgrade to ‘Plan B’ which is £10 per month - how does this work with billing?I would like to know so I can explain to customers what will happen? In the app it just says ‘Starting today £10’ etc.. but is whats left of their £5 plan knocked off? or refunded?If somebody could clarify his it would really help gert my head around it - so I can explain to users etc

Docs about subscription upgrades in "Google Play proration mode/replacement mode" outdated

In my Flutter app, I am trying the different prorationModes that there are for Google Play, when purchasing a subscription upgrade. Server side validation for purchases

Hi Everyone,I’m building an app which will be integrated with RevenueCat. The idea is that user can purchase coins (internal game currency which uses can use only inside application). I want to implement server side validation to make sure that user has purchased the coins so i can add the coins to their game account. The user will make a purchase in mobile app and then I want sent the transaction to server for validation and adding the coins.  How I can do this on java backend?Thanks.

Why are there so many billing error problems?

 Why are there so many billing error problems?I'm noticing that this error only occurs when the application developer gives the user a 7-day free trial.When immediate payment occurs, this works.So I tested it with 2 friends who had a balance on their credit card to subscribe to my app with a 7-day free trial, it didn't work.I would like to know what step you took to fix this problem?we have more than 85% error rate of this on android (playstore)My friend did the test with his card and it shows that he has a balance, but there was a problem.Is there a problem with the revenucat SDK with Google processing thinking that all payments are fraud?   image of my friend's balance:

Linking offerings to specific app within project?

Hi team,Is there a way to link a specific offering to specific app within a project?I am using a project to allow for shared subscriptions in the future, but to do so, I have to share my offerings between apps. The current system only allows for one default offering for all apps within the bundle and the offerings call from the iOS SDK returns all offerings as there is no way to mark them for a given app.I’d love a way to say that this specific offering or offerings is only for this given app and only to return it for that app API key.Otherwise I end up with errors like There's a problem with your configuration. No packages could be found for offering with identifier default_monthly.

One device unable to fetch offerings, another one is able to

When I run the command:Purchases.getOfferings()I get the following error:underlyingErrorMessage: There's a problem with your configuration. None of the products registered in the RevenueCat dashboard could be fetched from the Play Store.The problem is that my colleague gets the offerings without a problem, so it’s not the configuration issue, we are using the same codebase and the same API key. Grant Promotional updates correctly CustomInfo on iOS not Android (using Flutter)

Hi everyone,I’m using flutter to develop a feature that grant promotion access to an entitlement.The process is :1 - Client send it’s original_app_user_id to the backend server2 - The backend server perform an API call to "https://api.revenuecat.com/v1/subscribers/#{user_id}/entitlements/#{entitlement_id}/promotional"3 - RevenueCat send status 201 response back4 - The backend send success to the Client5 - The client should refresh the customInfo (through restore purchase)This process works fine on iOS, the subscription to the entitlement is active. But on Android, it does not seems to work. Even after 5 minutes (which should clear the cache) the customInfo does not show the new subscription, even after killing and launching the app.I’m pretty sure it should work as it is, because it works on iOS. Can someone help me out ?

Do I need to create a new subscription or a base plan for a custom offer?

Hello community, we currently have an offering for pro subscription for $9.99. Now we want to create a special offering for the easter holidays for $7.99 (lifetime), that should not effect the users that bought for the normal price.On Apple, I created a new subscription group with the new subscription for $7.99 in it, so users that bought for $9.99 can not switch to the $7.99 subscription in the icloud settings.On google I’m not sure whats the corrent way? Should I create a whole new subscription with a new base plan, or is a new base plan in the existing subscription enough? I want to prevent that users that bought for $9.99 can switch to the $7.99 offering. Kind regards,Marius

Subscriptions - Creating Customer Without Knowing App

I have a React Native application using RevenueCat, so there are two apps - 1 for Android and 1 for iOS, and therefore two public API keys. I’m wanting to use the endpoint for creating a new subscriber/customer on my backend server (https://api.revenuecat.com/v1/subscribers/{app_user_id}) rather than doing it on the front end, but the issue I’m having is I don’t know which platform the user is/will be using and so not sure which API key to use with the endpoint. Does this matter or am I able to use whichever endpoint and the subscription be acceptable on either platform? (I’m specifically granting the customer an entitlement after creating them, if that makes any difference.) Thanks so much in advance!

Best way to handle downloaded content for inApp purchase?

We are selling Tour descriptions in our App, that are like ebook chapters plus files for the actual track. Currently, we include all ebooks in the app bundle. Now we want to move it to be downloadable content that is downloaded after the purchase and on a restore purchases event. Are there recommendations or best practices on how to handle the downloads? Can we place download URLs into some meta data that are only visible after the purchase?

How to handle subscription when deleting a user

Hello,I saw that google play requires you to have the option in the app and also through a separate webpage for users to delete their account. I was wondering what is the go to approach in terms of managing the subscription? Do we have to cancel the user subscription before deleting the account and then also delete the customer from the revenuecat side, or de we just delete the customer and that’s it? Receiving "Active" Entitlement ONCE after Expiration every time, disappears upon next reload

Hi, sorry if the title is confusing, hard to explain in one line. I am using the React Native SDK and testing on an iOS device in sandbox.The problem I’m having is that Purchases.getCustomerInfo() seems to be returning an expired entitlement in the active list on the first app run after it’s expired. On all subsequent runs, it disappears as expected because it’s expired. But it means the app thinks the user still has an active entitlement for that first run when they should not.To try and explain the steps to reproduce:User purchases a subscription, which activates the entitlement. User uses the app during the subscription and all works as expected. User closes the app. Subscription expires (dashboard reports it is expired and entitlement is expired). User opens the app, which fetches customerInfo. The entitlement still comes back in customerInfo.entitlements.active at this time. User reloads the app or closes and reopens, which refetches customerInfo. The entitlement is no longer in c
