Question

Credentials need attention

Forum|alt.badge.img+1

I followed this guide while watching a YouTube video. I have enabled all the necessary settings, including “Google Play Android Developer API”, “Google Play Developer Reporting API”. Is there a solution to this problem? I'm new to this, so please explain in simple terms where to go and what to do.

Hi @Senya it looks like package name is not found hence we’re not able to validate your credentials. Have you published the app for testing yet? It may be because your app is not available for testing yet and therefore the package name is not recognized by Google.

Thanks for the reply, @Greenie Cheng. No, I haven't deployed the app for testing yet, I'm currently at the stage of setting up subscriptions in the app.

Ah yeah, so until you have your unique package name configured, we won’t be able to validate the credentials.

Got it. I'll work on the setup and update later if needed. Please don't close this thread for now so I don't have to create a new one later.

Best,

Yes, the error I mentioned earlier is gone, and now it looks like this:

Valid credentials:

(OK) Permissions to call subscriptions API

(OK) Permissions to call inappproducts API

(OK) Permissions to call monetization API

Right now, I'm trying to figure out subscriptions, I can't tell if they're working or not. And I don't know how to properly check it. Either I set up the Paywall incorrectly, or I missed something in the setup, which is why subscriptions aren’t working. The subscription status for Play Store is “Published”, but for App Store, it's “Ready to Submit”, maybe that's the reason it's not working? So now I need to submit the app for review in the App Store, but the subscriptions in the app aren’t fully set up yet. I have a lot of questions at this point. Is there someone I can contact about this? It would be great if someone has experience with FlutterFlow because I have some questions about RevenueCat subscriptions and some about the integration with FlutterFlow, since the guides seem to be outdated. Or maybe I just haven't set up something correctly, which is more likely.

Hi @Senya,

I’m glad that your credentials are ready!

If your subscriptions in App Store Connect are “Ready to submit” then you are on the right track. That’s how they need to be in order to test them in sandbox, you’ll have to send them for review together with your app when you are all set and ready to publish them.

 What issues are you finding?

Good morning, @joan-cardona I have a question.

In my app (closed testing on Android), the monthly and weekly plans show that the subscription lasts only 5 minutes. Why is that happening? I checked the subscription durations in the Google Play Console, and everything looks correct — the monthly plan is set to one month, and the weekly plan to one week. How can I assign myself a subscription for the proper duration in this case? I canceled the 5-minute subscription because I keep getting renewal notifications every 5 minutes, and it’s really annoying.

I’ll need to submit the app for review and provide them with an account that has access to the paid features. So, is there a way to grant myself a subscription somehow?

Hi @Senya purchases in sandbox are accelerated intentionally by the store to speed up testing. You can review here: https://www.revenuecat.com/docs/test-and-launch/sandbox/google-play-store#working-with-subscriptions

To stop getting renewal notification every 5 minutes, you could cancel the subscription from the Play Store app on your test device. If you want a longer period than what the store provides in the sandbox purchases, you may want to consider granting yourself entitlement on the dashboard directly. You can go to your customer page, and at the top, you can choose to grant entitlement. See the Grant button in the screenshot:

Hello, @Greenie Cheng

Yes, thank you, I’ve already figured that part out.

Right now, I’m having a different issue with subscriptions on iOS. The purchase isn’t working, and the subscription pricing is not showing at all. Meanwhile, everything works perfectly on Android.

Could you please check if my RevenueCat configuration is correct for iOS?

I’m currently in active communication with Apple Support, and I’m trying to figure out which side the issue is on.

@Senya You’re currently missing the vendor number in your App Store Connect API section.

Thank you for your reply, @Greenie Cheng
I’m honestly at a loss at this point and don’t know what else to do or who to contact. My subscriptions on iOS simply don’t work. Apple Support just responds with generic templates. Everything is set up correctly in RevenueCat and FlutterFlow, it works perfectly fine on Android. App Store Connect is also properly configured, but subscription data doesn’t show up and in-app purchases just don’t work.

I’ll try creating a separate thread for this issue, since it’s drifting away from the original topic of this thread and might cause confusion for others.

UPD:

Oh my god, I finally fixed it after all this time, thank you so much, guys! @joan-cardona, @Greenie Cheng
Here’s what the problem was: in App Store Connect -> Business, there were some required fields related to banking, taxes, etc., that I had never filled out. I had actually never even opened that section before. I honestly don’t understand how I was even allowed to submit the app for review without setting that up.

Also, in RevenueCat -> Project -> Apps -> App Store App, I hadn’t added the App Store Connect App-Specific Shared Secret and Vendor Number.

A suggestion for the team: it would be really helpful if there were some kind of validation or warning that prevents saving when critical fields like these are missing. That would make life a lot easier for people like me who tend to miss things like this.

About 30 minutes to an hour after making those changes, everything started working.
Now everything’s fine, subscriptions are displaying and working as expected.

That’s amazing to hear! We hear your feedback about adding more validation. Thank you!!
