App Store distribution rejected

Forum|alt.badge.img+5

Hi, I was rejected from app store with the following reason:

Guideline 2.1 - Performance - App Completeness

Issue Description

The app exhibited one or more bugs that would negatively impact App Store users.

Bug description: we were unable to proceed with subscription purchase as we encountered an error when we tapped on 구독 신청 button.

My revenue cat integration is currently not working on iOS but i am assuming that this is because my subscriptions on app stores aren’t approved.

(Error I get when i run `presentPaywall()` with sandbox apple account)

Error 23: There is an issue with your configuration. Check the underlying error for more details.

However, according to the AppsStore, for my subscriptions to be approved, i need to submit a new version.

Your first subscription must be submitted with a new app version. Create your subscription, then select it from the app’s In-App Purchases and Subscriptions section on the version page before submitting the version to App Review.

So i am currently in a deadlock where i need my subscriptions to be approved for my distribution to pass but distribution requires approved subscriptions.

Am I misunderstanding anything?

For those who are encountering the same problem as me, i think it was due to imcompleteness of some entries under AppStore > Business > Aggreements. Make sure you fill out all the forms required by the page.

For me, Tax forms are still pending but revenuecat functioned without it.

Hi @junsoo-50137c,

Unfortunately this is a very common scenario that we tried to tackle on a latest docs update.

For Apple to approve your first subscriptions, you need to send them along with the app review rather than sending the subscriptions alone. When you have subscriptions in “Ready to submit” state, you’ll find an extra section in App Store Connect under your app build to attach new in-app products to the same review.

Right now you are in this limbo state where your products don’t get reviewed and your app is not passing due to that. My recommendation is to create new subscription products using the exact same configuration but changing the ids, set them in Ready to submit and add them in RevenueCat, test everything with those subscriptions and then send everything to Apple in one go.

Best,

@joan-cardona

Thanks for the reply Joan,

I actually tried to submit 2times and second submit was rejected because of the question I initially posted and first one was rejected saying:

Guideline 2.1 - Information Needed

We have started the review of your app, but we are not able to continue because we cannot locate the in-app purchases within your app at this time.

Because trying to sneak in new subscriptions without subscription feature failed, I thought I had to implement subscription flow.

My recommendation is to create new subscription products using the exact same configuration but changing the ids, set them in Ready to submit and add them in RevenueCat, test everything with those subscriptions and then send everything to Apple in one go.

Is revenuecat supposed to work even in “Ready to Submit” status? Because when I tried to submit for the second time(rejected by the reason in the post body), I believe my subscription items are in “Ready to submit”. I don’t understand what needs to change from my recent try.

(Just tried again with all my app store products in “Ready to Submit” state but still doesn’t work in Testflight with sandbox account)

Update: I tried resubmitting my app to appstore with subscription feature removed but selected to include in submission page and got rejected by the same reason:

Guideline 2.1 - Information Needed

We have started the review of your app, but we are not able to continue because we cannot locate the in-app purchases within your app at this time.

By any chance, I have found some articles saying i need all the forms in AppStore > Business > Agreements to be filled. I have submitted Tax Form few days ago and waiting for it to be confirmed by Apple. Can this be the cause of config error?
