User ID or IDFA for Branch attribution

Hi there,

I am looking at the Branch/RevenueCat integration and I am curious about why device identifiers such as IDFA are required. Can RevenueCat events not be attributed to a Branch campaign via the user ID? (as long as Branch and Purchases ids match).

FYI we are only interested in seeing the attributed RC events in Branch, we don’t need RC to know about our campaigns. (If this changes anything 😄)

Hi Lydia! Branch requires passing the IDFA (or IDFV) in order to track downstream events, so our integration has to require it as well. Here is their documentation on it if you would like to read further.
