Help wanted: StoreKit 2 beta testing

Hi! 👋🏻 We’re in the final stages of our testing of some StoreKit 2 features before fully calling it ready for production, and we’d love your help!  Context: Starting with v4.0.0, our SDK already uses StoreKit 2 by default on compatible devices for some features where the StoreKit 1 functionality was problematic, buggy or unreliable, and StoreKit 2 is essentially guaranteed to be an improvement (like checkTrialOrIntroDiscountEligibility). For devices that aren’t compatible with StoreKit 2, it defaults to a StoreKit 1 implementation.  However, we haven’t enabled StoreKit 2 by default for making actual purchases. We’ve tested it extensively in Sandbox and StoreKit Test (see our blog post on how we test our SDKs) but we need to see how well StoreKit2 behaves in production before calling it ready.  How to help:  Our SDK includes an optional flag in the configure method, called useStoreKit2IfAvailable. In order to help, all you need to do is to set that flag to true!   With this flag set,

Xcode 15's PrivacyInfo.xcprivacy/Privacy Manifest: What if developer uses anonymous app ids only?

As Xcode 15/iOS 17 deployment is nearing, I have began looking at the new PrivacyInfo.xcprivacy / Privacy manifest stuff that will be mandated next year.Having seen the latest commits in GitHub, I realise that NSPrivacyCollectedDataTypeLinked of PrivacyInfo.xcprivacy for NSPrivacyCollectedDataTypePurchaseHistory is set to true. (https://github.com/RevenueCat/purchases-ios/blob/7087218ed675e828fd1f97b5c25d4e1ef1609392/Sources/PrivacyInfo.xcprivacy#L21-L22)However, if we look at https://www.revenuecat.com/docs/apple-app-privacy#2-purchase-history-linked-to-identity, the previous advice on this topic, when we need to fill the privacy labels for the App Store, Purchase History Linked to Identity does not apply to those using anonymous user ids only. In that case, provided that if a developer only made use of the anonymous user ids, wouldn’t the Privacy Manifest be somewhat inaccurate? (though, I have no idea on how one could avoid this, either.)

Supporting "App Store Promotions" (in-app purchases that show up in App Store search results)

Hello!I’m trying to add support for “App Store Promotions” so that one of my in-app purchases can be shown in App Store search results. Apple asks us to make sure our app “supports the SKPaymentTransactionObserver method to process this transaction.”I would like to confirm that by setting up RevenueCat on initialization of the app, that I support this.Can someone please confirm either that I am good to go to turn on this promotional IAP, or guide me in the additional code I need to add to my app to support this? Thank you!

Share subscription between multiple devices with the same Apple ID

Hi,I’m using revenue cat in a flutter app to manage subscriptions. Users are not logged in, I’m only using anonymous App User IDs. It works like a charm.However, a user has subscribed on his ipad and cannot use the entitlement on his iphone. He has an error when he tries to subscribe to the same entitlement.If I add the restore purchases method, will that solve this issue ?Or do I need to log in users ?Thank you for your help

ERROR: 🍎‼️ There was a problem with the App Store.

I’m getting a successful “response” from the native iOS purchase dialog (it gives me the check and the happy ding sound) but RevenueCat fails. Unfortunately, the failure also takes like 30 seconds to be responded to so beyond it failing, the failure is a bad UX and it’s not really clear how to handle it. Below are the debug logs. Call to Purchases.shared.getProducts(["my_product_id"]) is returning 0 - can someone help?

Hi,I’ve setup my App Store Connect with a test product and added to RevenueCat too. Also installed the latest version of RevenueCat in my iOS app - now I’m trying to do a test subscription purchase on a physical device from within my app but hitting a problem.I see all the initialisation debug messages from RevenueCat in the XCode debug window - however, when I’m making the call to Purchases.shared.getProducts([“my_product_id”]), RevenueCat is not returning any product back. The SwiftUI code I’m using is pretty much exactly the same as posted by @Michael Eovine  in his post from a few weeks ago @  Note: I was hoping the RevenueCat documentation would help provide some useful details but surprisingly there’s only one single mention of ‘getProducts’ (see https://docs.revenuecat.com/docs/ios-native-3x-to-4x-migration#api-changes-1) and it’s in the context of it replacing the ‘products’ call. Can someone from the RevenueCat support team please assist in either suggesting troubleshooting st

Should a StoreKit Configuration File be excluded from app submissions?

We’re on the seemingly endless treadmill of missing receipts and offerings for our first iOS app store review and had a seemingly simple question that we struggled to find a good answer to.Should we remove our synced StoreKit Configuration File from our scheme before archiving to submit to the app store? Or is that file only used for xcode testing, so leaving it in the build is fine?Thanks.-nate

allowSharingAppStoreAccount deprecated -> Configure in dashboard... but where?

Hi, I’m new to RevenueCat and I’m in the process of refactoring a piece of code using the ‘allowSharingAppStoreAccount’ function. The documentation says:allowSharingAppStoreAccountDEPRECATEDConfigure behavior through the RevenueCat dashboard instead. I’ve looked everywhere in the dashboard, but can’t find any setting that would seem to relate to this?Also, I’m unsure exactly what this function does: is it for instance in case someone creates several accounts in the app with, say, different email addresses, but has a single App Store account? Thanks to anyone who takes the time to help!

Background Task 3 ("SKReceiptRefreshRequest")

Our app has been approved & now in app store for almost a year without problem with app subscription.Today I tested a new version using sandbox environment, I got the following messages in the log:[BackgroundTask] Background Task 3 ("SKReceiptRefreshRequest"), was created over 30 seconds ago. In applications running in the background, this creates a risk of termination. Remember to call UIApplication.endBackgroundTask(_:) for your task in a timely manner to avoid this.After I got this message, the app is killed by iOS system & quit unexpectedly.  The app purchase is never changed since it approved by Apple.  The current new version in development hasn’t also been changed.The purchase SDK that I used is Purchases 3.13.1 Are there any leaks in this SDK version? or maybe Apple appstore has introducing new “mechanism” that  this version of SDK can’t handle it?  Thanks,Dann

Cordova error on capacitor: Purchases has not been configured

I’m upgrading an old project (Ionic with Capacitor 5) from cordova-plugin-purchases 2.3.2 to the latest 3.13.0. I’m calling configureWith using a valid API key and user id, and 10 seconds later, I call getOfferings() and get a fatal error in xcode:PurchasesHybridCommon/CommonFunctionality.swift:21: Fatal error: Purchases has not been configured. Please configure the SDK before calling this methodUPDATE: I should have read the configureWith docs more carefully - I was calling it in the same style as Purchases.configure(apiKey, appUserId). Changing it Purchases.configureWith({apiKey, appUserId}) solves the problem!  Leaving this here in case anyone else makes the same mistake. 🤦🙂

Need to login Apple ID every time when purchase

Hi folks, I am testing the purchase function and running into a problem that, every time I called the purchase function it will ask me to login using my Apple ID. I tested on both physical device and stimulator. I’ve login both before I installed the app (i also tried uninstall and login again but no luck).  Any advice? Thanks a lot.

RevenueCat in China

Hello, at Lake Coloring we are in process of migration to RevenueCat. At the moment we are just forwarding receipts from our backend to RevenueCat API.  We are migrating to RevenueCat SDK in our iOS app but have a problem with mainland China, more specifically api.revenuecat.com seems to be blocked in mainland China. Since our backend is reachable by vast majority of provinces and operators in China(but not all of them, so we do understand the difficulties with the region) we would like to have at least similar reachability for RevenueCat.All suggestions how to work around this issue would be greatly appreciated.Thanks

"Receipt is missing" eror during App Review on Flutter iOS

Google Play sent a reminder: “Starting on August 2, 2021, all new apps must use Billing Library version 3 or newer. By November 1, 2021, all updates to existing apps must use Billing Library version 3 or newer.”Does RevenueCat already use the Billing Library v3 or is there anything we would need to do to make sure the transition is smooth? Sandbox/Testflight do not show eligible introdutory offer

Hi, My app update was recently rejected in the iOS app store due to a mismatch in the introductory offer. Our paywall and product shows a 7 day free trial, however, when the Apple Store confirmation sheet is shown, no introductory trial period is shown. App reviewers are testing the paywall in Sandbox mode. In our live app, which uses the same product and introductory offer, the introductory offer does show the free trial period correctly. What gives? I tried everything from upgrading the SDK, trying other products with introductory offers, new sandbox users, etc. with no success. Is this a bug on Apple’s sandbox system? Testflight with new sandbox user shows no introductory offerProduction shows confirmation screen with free trial

import Purchases not showing up in xCode

Hi there,I’m new to developing and I’m trying to implement the purchases SDK for ioS. I’m using xCode and Swift UI.I’ve followed all the steps, I’ve installed via CocoaPods and I can see the Pod.xcodeproj in my xc file. Everything builds successfully. However when I try and use the import Purchase it just says there is No Such module ‘Purchase’. I’ve added In-App Purchase as a capability. In the tutorial I’ve followed it just worked and I’m at a loss as to what to try. ThanksChris

Exit button in Paywalls

Hey RC folks,I am loving the new Paywalls beta. So simple to use, and it looks good to boot!My only feedback is that I would like to see an “X” button in there somewhere so users are 100% sure to know how to exit the paywall. Right now you have to swipe down, which is not obvious to everyone.

I am testing purchases in sandbox. I have purchased a subscription before, and it has expired.When I go in to purchase again, `Purchases.purchasePackage` prints purchase successful immediately  and returns nothing and stalls.

Unable to start a trial of one product

Hello, My app has 3 products, Monthly, Annual, and Lifetime packages in 1 offering. On launch I call getOfferings, take the current offering, and store the packages. My paywall is dynamically generated based on these packages.
