Webhooks integration and http

Hi,

I am integrating webhooks in out AWS backend application. I am wondering if webhooks can use HTTP? Seems that webhooks seem to work only with SSL certificate.

Is there a best practices section for webhook implementation? I haven't found it and it could be a great resource for us.
