iOS 'Receipt is invalid' Megathread

If you’re here, it’s probably because you’ve encountered an active issue related to Apple’s receipt verification.RevenueCat relies upon Apple’s `verifyReceipt` endpoint which is currently facing an outage: https://developer.apple.com/system-status/This seems to be affecting sandbox and TestFlight purchases only at this time, although Apple’s status page doesn’t mention it explicitly.Encountering this issue? React-Native / Expo Go: How to solve `TypeError: null is not an object (evaluating 'RNPurchases.setupPurchases')`

Expo Go doesn’t build native modules, so you may run into this error while trying to run your app with react-native-purchases in Expo Go.  In order to use RevenueCat with Expo, you will have to create Development Builds, which can be done either by using EAS, or by making builds that are compatible with Xcode and Android Studio. There are detailed instructions for doing either one in this page:https://docs.expo.dev/development/build/ Easiest way to be able to debug is to just run either of the following:npx expo run:android -dnpx expo run:ios -d We also have a blog post that goes step-by-step into how to make an app with Expo and RevenueCat using EAS: https://www.revenuecat.com/blog/in-app-puchase-expo-managed-workflow/ Let us know if you run into any issues!

Help wanted: StoreKit 2 beta testing

Hi! 👋🏻 We’re in the final stages of our testing of some StoreKit 2 features before fully calling it ready for production, and we’d love your help!  Context: Starting with v4.0.0, our SDK already uses StoreKit 2 by default on compatible devices for some features where the StoreKit 1 functionality was problematic, buggy or unreliable, and StoreKit 2 is essentially guaranteed to be an improvement (like checkTrialOrIntroDiscountEligibility). For devices that aren’t compatible with StoreKit 2, it defaults to a StoreKit 1 implementation.  However, we haven’t enabled StoreKit 2 by default for making actual purchases. We’ve tested it extensively in Sandbox and StoreKit Test (see our blog post on how we test our SDKs) but we need to see how well StoreKit2 behaves in production before calling it ready.  How to help:  Our SDK includes an optional flag in the configure method, called useStoreKit2IfAvailable. Different prices between Paywall and checkout in IOS App(Flutter)

Hi guys! I'm integrating subscriptions in my Flutter app using RevenueCat. iOS case. I'm encountering an issue where the price shown on the paywall differs from the price shown at the actual App Store checkout. For example:* On the paywall, I show $59.99 (taken from `package.storeProduct.priceString`)* But when the user proceeds to the purchase, the App Store sheet shows $69.99 I'm not hardcoding any values — I use priceString from RevenueCat offerings.I use Flutter, but the issue happened on IOS only Questions:-Why might there be a mismatch between the price from on paywall and checkout? Thanks in advance for any insight!

[Web Billing] Offer product fetching support for mobile

Are there any plans to support fetching Web Billing products on mobile platforms?ContextWe are using RevenueCat Web Billing to manage our web app subscriptions.On the companion mobile app, we would like to show users some details regarding their subscription.As such we are configuring our Purchases instance with the WebBilling API Key.This works well for the most part - with entitlements & subscription expiration data coming in as expected on the CustomerInfo response.IssueOther information (such as price) can only be obtained via the product instance itself.And any attempt to fetch the WebBilling product returns a “Not Found” error with it being obvious that the SDK is only searching among the PlayStore / AppStore products.Furthermore, attempting to manually specify the store via the PurchasesConfiguration.Builder is also met with an exception. And sure enough, looking into the implementation reveals that the provided store is cast to the one native to the platform (e.g. on Androi

Paywall (Sphynx) missing bottom padding without no restore button

I am showing a PaywallViewController (iOS, UIKit) without a “Restore” button in my app (I am showing it in my own UI in a step before). Unfortunately, the “Continue” button now sits just at the top edge of the view which looks a bit unprofessional. I see no way to change this myself. Please see the attached screenshot (taken in the Catalyst version of our app). Thanks!

Could not process value for variable 'sub_offer_duration' for package

I’m unable to select the monthly or yearly package, and there is continuous logs in console sayingW/[Purchases](24112): Could not process value for variable 'sub_offer_duration' for package '$rc_annual'. Please check that the product for that package matches the requirements for that variable. Defaulting to empty string.

Purchases.sharedInstance is null right after calling Purchases.configure

I am getting logs that occasionally with some users Purchases.sharedInstance throws UninitializedPropertyAccessException even though Purchases.configure was called literally on the line before. Our app is only available via Google Play Store, so there shouldn't be any issues connected with prerequisites not being met on that front. Is Purchases.configure asynchronous in some sense? I skimmed through the code and I saw no indication that the configuration (and initialization of sharedInstance) should fail in any sense. One thing I should also note is that I access Purchases.sharedInstance via DI using Hilt. It occurred to me that maybe there somehow exist two instances of Purchases (one configured, and one not), but I think if that was the case, this problem would be ubiquitous, and not impacting just some of the users some of the time. I am using SDK v8.17.1

Android Native Module Not Available in Development

Failed to Load Offerings in TestFlight but Works in Simulator

I have a React-Native Expo project. I used StoreKit file and synced it with App Store and edited the original scheme to use this StoreKit file and my simulator was working perfectly and offerings were loaded perfectly. Customer Account Not Being Created Without Purchase?

Hey!I have the following use case but coudln’t find a great solution for it yet. This seems like something that should work out of the box, so I’m asking here. In my mobile app, I initialize RevenueCat once and call the login method later to identify a user as soon as I have their userId. However, if that customer has not made a purchase yet, they will not show up as customers in the RevenueCat dashboard. That’s a real bummer because I regularly want to give existing but selected users access to premium entitlements. I cannot do that though if they are not even in the RevenueCat dashboard. From what I understood, calling the configure method creates a user account if none is already created (and cached). Why is that user account not showing in the dashboard?Consider this case: I do direct customer acquisition and get them to download the app and create a user account. Now I want to grant them a specific entitlement. This seems like a very basic feature. But right now, I don’t see how I

Paywall getting dismissed automatically after the purchase

I am using Jetpack Compose in my Android app. I have created a composable screen in which based on the user (Free or Premium), I show the paywall. Now, when the user makes a successful purchase, my composable screen is getting dismissed automatically. New Subscription Product Not Appearing on Android

Hi, I'm reaching out for help with an issue I'm facing regarding a new subscription product I added. I have previously configured subscription products in RevenueCat that are working successfully on both iOS and Android platforms. However, I recently added a new product with the identifier lite_professional_yearly. Here is the setup: The product is added in RevenueCat with the store-specific identifiers: iOS: lite_professional_yearly Android: lite_professional_yearly:lite-professional-yearly The product is added and active in both the Apple App Store and Google Play Console. It is included in the default Offering in RevenueCat. The product shows correctly on iOS devices, but does not appear on Android. Could you please help me investigate why this product is not appearing on Android while it works fine on iOS? Thank you!

Web Purchase Link - webCheckoutUrl property is empty

Hello everyone,We’re looking to adopt the web purchase flow for our iOS app using RevenueCat. I’ve set up a Web Billing project and configured it for our default offering (see attached screenshot). My understanding is that, once everything is configured correctly, the `webCheckoutUrl` property should be populated for the relevant package when fetched via the SDK.However, I’m still seeing that `webCheckoutUrl` is `nil`. Is this likely due to a misconfiguration on my end, or am I misunderstanding how and when this property should be set?Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Is a react-native-webview based mobile app intergation possible?

I have been trying to get the hybrid mobile app (iOS) working with revenuecat, react native SDK on the native side, and bridging with the web app running in the webview using the web sdk without success, and starting to wonder if it is actually possible if anyone knows?Thanks

Discrepancy between webhook and dashboard events (REOPEN)

I wanted to go through an example and understand the current state of a subscriber. The dashboard has “Subscription expired 11 days ago” and my database still has the user marked with the subscription as active and entitled.The way I manage the user database record with entitlements is only via webhooks (I listen to them and grand and remove entitlements accordingly). I think I have some logic issues since in this example the record is not in sync. Example is for user ID: eL9WN4QjQpZgB36ZCPnGhuIC2cq1Customer History in the RC dashboard has these as last few events: My database has these records (event is central USA time): as you can see, the last events are a RENEWAL and then a CANCELLAION after 3 days (which is what my configured grace period is). I did not receive any “conclusion” event for this user. No BILLING_ISSUE, no EXPIRATION nothing like that.As you can see EXPIRATION came first and that is when I removed their entitlements. But then a RENEWAL came 8 days later so I added th

Best Practice for Handling Duplicate Subscription Purchases?

I’d like to ask for guidance on how to properly handle cases where users attempt to repurchase a subscription product they are already subscribed to.In my app, I’ve implemented a subscription system offering both monthly and annual plans.The issue I’m currently facing is: when a user who already has an active monthly subscription attempts to repurchase the same monthly plan via the paywall, the system silently ignores the request — no callback is triggered, and the only output I can see is the following log:Ignoring purchase request for already subscribed packageWhile investigating this issue, I noticed something interesting: if I configure the package in the offering using PackageType.CUSTOM instead of the standard PackageType.MONTHLY, the PaywallViewModel is able to proceed with performPurchase() (since Package.currentlySubscribed returns false).In this case, the RC SDK ends up calling the Google Play billing flow, which results in an error due to the duplicate purchase. How to run validation before completing a purchase using default PaywallView on iOS?

Hey everyone!I'm using RevenueCat’s default PaywallView in my iOS app, and I’d like to know if there’s a supported way to run a custom validation before the actual purchase happens, using the default paywall UI.Here’s the use case I need to support: A user logs in to App Account A using Apple ID X, then subscribes successfully. Later, they log out and log in with App Account B, but still using the same Apple ID X. Before allowing them to subscribe again, I want to detect that Apple ID X already has a subscription tied to a different app user ID. Using with Tauri v2 on Android and iOS

I’m interested in using RevenueCat for subscriptions and purchases in a Tauri app released for Android and iOS. The only information I found was a thread from a year ago which suggested using API and said that Tauri v2 support was not on the roadmap:Has anything changed since then? I’d love to use RevenueCat but part of its appeal is using an SDK that ties together all the API calls and the native purchase flow together. Are you planning to support Tauri v2 in the future? It’s a wild guess but given that Tauri’s architecture is similar to Capacitor, I suspect a lot of work done for Capacitor could be reused.

Will the Old API Key Remain Supported? Migration Issues & Deprecation Concerns

I’m still using the old API key because when I tried migrating, purchases made with the old key weren’t recognized by the new API (I opened an issue here: https://github.com/RevenueCat/purchases-flutter/issues/472). Today I tried migrating again and noticed the issue still persists. Subscriptions made with the old API key are recognized by the new API, but one-time purchases still aren’t. If the user taps the “Restore Purchases” button, it does correctly recognize it — but I feel like that’s unnecessary friction for the user, and it could lead to negative feedback for the app. I’m also getting the lint warning that Purchases.setup (Flutter) is deprecated. So I just want to know: can I still keep using the old API key? And will support for it eventually be dropped?As a side note, when I restore the purchase made with the old API key, I get this message on console, and then the purchase is fully restored: 🤖‼️ Couldn't acknowledge purchase after restoring it, this most likely means the s
