How to migrate from RevenueCat to StoreKit 2 for IAP only?

Hi! I currently have an app that uses RevenueCat - it only has one IAP and has 200 past purchases. I implemented RevenueCat last month (version 4.17.8) and my app only supports iOS16 so I think its using SK2 under the hood.RevenueCat has been awesome, but for my current minimal need (one IAP), I am considering migrating to SK2 until I implement any subscriptions feature. As I read from this [super great article](https://www.revenuecat.com/blog/engineering/ios-in-app-subscription-tutorial-with-storekit-2-and-swift/) I can implement it without any backend.I used the default Purchase.configure method following the tutorial. So I assume storeKit2Settings is set to `enabledOnlyForOptimizations`.I was wondering is it just a direct migration? If I move from RevenueCat to on-device SK2, will my 200 past customers still be able to restore their purchases through `Transaction.currentEntitlements`? Or do I need to export their data and do something special with it. Thanks for your help!

How does RevenueCat manage iOS Subscription Events such as "Entered Grace Period", "Entered New Billing Retry", "Renewal from Billing Retry" and so on?

Hello,I was looking at the Subscription Retention chart and, when looking at total of Subscription activated, I saw more activations than the ones that Apple Connect shows me.So I thought it could due to the fact that RevenueCat aggregate both users that has firstly activated a subscription and the ones that have activated it after the grace period, or with another payment method (billing retry), or even that have reactvated the subscription.Unfortunately though, I haven’t find any guide to understand how RevenueCat manages and groups this kind of events.May someone help me please?Many thanks.

Not receiving Apple server to server webhooks

Hey, I’m having an issue with receiving webhooks in RevenueCat from AppStoreConnect. We’ve been using these webhooks successfully for quite a while, but I’ve been testing today and haven’t been receiving anything. I took a look at the App config and it says that we haven’t received a webhook from Apple since 2021-09-16 8:06 PM. I tested the AppStoreConnect side by pointing their webhooks at a local server and I am able to receive the webhooks so it’s not on their end. Did something change on the 16th that would have broken this? Thanks. Edit: One thing worth noting, I’ve been testing out the behviour with transferring purchases between users. Perhaps RC thinks that the webhooks belong to the old user that the purchases were transferred FROM. I guess that wouldn’t explain why the UI reports 5 days since last webhook received.

iOS and Android - Separate or combined?

Hello,I just started out using Revenue Cat, and like it very much.So, a basic “best practice” question.I have an app that exist on both iOS and on Android. Right now, in my initial setup, I have combined the products for the different platforms into the same offering, and same entitlement.Is there a risk that by doing this, the apps will get confused when downloading offerings?Or, is it clear-cut behind the scenes, that the iOS app only gets iOS products, and the Android app only gets Android products?Alternatively, is it better to separate out the products into their respective platform (iOS offering/entitlement and Android offering/entitlement)?My question is primarily asked from a technical perspective. Restore purchase event

Hi, Is there any way to either get restore purchase in the data RevenueCat is exporting to S3 or in the events that are sent to Amplitude?We are having a hard time merging users that do a restore purchase on a different device. It’s two different users on Amplitude which is not correct. For now, we don’t have user accounts on our app, so we don’t have a specific id for each user but an id based on the device.Thank you,

How to make a product consumable

Hi there. I have a product which unlocks content for 1 day to specific features inside my App. (We control this time on our server so no problem here).The problem that we're having is that when we try to purchase this item more than once. Google shows a Modal: "Error: You already own this item"I guess that this is happening because products are non-consumable by default.The only thing that I need is to make this product consumable to let the user buy the item as many times as he wants.How can I do this using RevenueCat?Thank you in advance!

Automatic Renewal event after App-Reinstall has only anonymous app user id

Hi, really loving RevenueCat!I have the following situation:Android App I initialize Purchases SDK in the AndroidApplication class with an anonymous User ID User logs in → I log in the user into the purchases SDK → User has an anonymous ID + my domain user IDThe problem happens, when the following happens:The user purchases a subscription with automatic renewal The user uninstalls the app and then installs it again The next time the webhook calls my backend for the renewal, it will contain ONLY an previously unknown anonymous ID and no way for me to match it to the userThe main problem stems from this I believe:Current App User ID Provided App User ID already exists? Provided App User ID has anonymous alias? Result Anonymous Yes Yes PurchaserInfo changes to Provided ID, no aliases created.  My solution is to manually alias the current app user Id every time a user logs in IF the current app user id is an anonymous one. Hi everyone, when a user creates / restores a subscription in the application - how can I get his store account (mail)? or any other identifier associated with the store acount/subscrition id. which will be the same on another device. is it possible? I didn't find it in documentation/examples.

Can RC somehow see users with a free trial that has been setup on backend instead by introductory offer?

Before we created subscriptions in stores, we created free trial on our backend. The problem is that RevenueCat does not know or show our free trial users on the customer list.We see users only when they make a purchase thus we can’t give them promotional entitlements through the console. Is there a way for RC to see our free trials users without setting up introductory offer in subscriptions ? ( that would require UX/UI changes on our side)

User ID and restoring purchases from Anonymous ID

Hello! I am architecting the backend for a mobile application and despite reading through a lot of documentation posts, I feel I’m going in circles trying to grasp some subtle points and would love to get some answers before committing a lot of development. So I understand the basics of user IDs and anonymous user ids. Our app will ONLY allow users to login (and get an explicit User ID recorded in our database) AFTER a purchase.No problem: users get an anonymous ID, they sign in and we assign them a new, unique App User ID, which we record, and use login() to associate with their RC account. The question happens when the same user logs into a fresh device (or reinstalls). They get a new anonymous ID upon starting up, but then what happens when they “Restore purchases”?My hope is that we would be able to get access to the previously assigned App User ID. Not receiving 'TRANSFER' webhook

Hello RC Community  This morning in production we hit our first “Restore Purchase” scenario and hit a few hicups.We had a user sign up for a subscription, then immediately sign into another account on our app. (So two users on OUR app, using one apple ID) They triggered the restore purchase behavior (our app is currently set to ‘Transfer Purchases’) and we did see a TRANSFER event for both of these users in the dashboard - but did NOT receive a webhook. Looking at the RC dashboard we can see: User 1 started a subscription (We got the INITAL_PURCHASE webhook successfully) User 1 got a transfered event (Transfered to User 2’s ID) User 1 lost all their entitlements/subscriptions User 2 got all of their entitlements & subscriptions The problem we are hitting is that we keep record of subscriptions on our end using the recommended method in the docs: to refresh a user’s data whenever we receive a webhook. BUT we didn’t receive a TRANSFER webhook for EITHER of these users, so now our dat

Best Practice - Handling Subscription Cancellations/Refunds/Reactivations

Hello, I was wondering what the best practice is to handle an app with subscriptions when a user cancels the subscription, gets a refund and then possibly reactivates the subscription.  Are webhooks the best practice for this?

Migrate to revenueCat

I am in process of migrating to RevenueCatif I do not import data from my old system what will happen with all my users as they open the new app for the first time. Will they have to resubscribe to in app purchases or will revenueCat see there is a existing in app subscription and allow them to use the app.    in the case of question 1  would they have the option to restore there purchase or will it automatically pull in there purchasesIf I import data what data is required. If I need user Id would this be the id provided by apple or id generated from my server [Support edit: Updated the title and description to improve the search]

Using RevenueCat REST APIs for In App Purchases using the Appgyver platform

Hello Everyone,We developed an app using Appgyver Composer Pro that currently doesn’t have In App purchase plugins. I saw  this documentation: https://docs.revenuecat.com/reference#basic  and was wondering if this could work  for adding Zoom meeting links in the app considering Appgyver Composer Pro has capability to integrate REST APIs? Apple will not accept our app becuase we do not have In-app purchase services within the appThank you all for your help!

Does https://api.revenuecat.com/v1/receipts acknowledge subscriptions on android?

We are in the process of migrating old subscriptions to revenuecat and will do this as we release a new version of our app. We will use the receipts API to migrate all old receipts and I think the documentation is clear it can be used for this.My concern is regarding new purchases of users on the old version of the app, when we have also released the new version. The purchases on the old version will go to our backend and in the old version they would be forwarded and acknowledged straight to google play API, but since we’re moving to revenuecat we would instead like to directly forward the purchase token to revenuecat, and not have to bother with the acknowledging.Will RC acknowledge tokens sent via this API or do RC only acknowledge tokens sent directly from google pub/sub to RC?Should I forward these new purchases at all or just wait for RC to get the message from google pub/sub? Thanks

Apple rejection

Hello;I have recently uploaded my app to Apple store but was rejected. The message is;“Specifically, on our iPad Air, the "Abonelik Satin Al" tab launched to an error message.”But this is my second app including inapp purchase and first one was approved without a problem. Also the rejected app was successful when I tested it on a real device with my sandbox account prior to the submission. They also sent these photos; What should I do?

Questions about migratung from another service to RevenueCat

I currently use Nami Paywall for in app purchases on Android and iOS only. I want to move to RevenueCat. I would like to know if I need to sync purchases receipts or import receipts into RevenueCat? I am not sure if Nami allows us to export data however I like to know if1.) it’s required2.) what are the benefits of import the data to RevenueCat3.) scenes all of my users that made in app purchases are iOS and Android users (devices) would RevenueCat be able to pull in all of the data as far as previous sell history, trend information, active users when every a user launches the new app version of the app for the first time.  Can someone please explain to me the most important things that I need to do. basically I just want to allow my existing users that have active subscription in the apple App Store and google play store continue to use there subscriptions as  seamless as possible. If possible I would love to have there purchase history once they launch the app for the first time.  La

Is the webhook's "takehome_percentage" field accurate?

I’ve noticed that for iOS, the takehome percentage is always listed as 0.7, even though I believe for many apps it should now be 0.85. Is this hardcoded on RevenueCat’s side, or is it retrieving this value from Apple in some way?

Can an iOS purchase failure be forced in order to test error handling?

I have an AppStore Connect “Sandbox Test User” account with “INTERRUPTED PURCHASES” enabled; This user is signed into the simulator’s iCloud account (I’m using XCode StoreKit file), however the purchase is still successfully being processed. This project is using the RevenueCat 4.0.0 swift package for integration.Does RevenueCat offer its own method to manufacture/force a failed purchase? Is there something else that must be done to flex error handling code? I plan to attempt the same as above on a physical device as soon as I regain access to my test device… but is that mandatory for purchase interruption to work?

Understanding basics

I will really appreciate what needs doing under following circumstances:Scenario 1:  I setup purchases with a userID I get from Firebase Auth after login in using firebase. Let’s say it is ‘UFID’. I am logged in with my app using ‘UFID’. My appstore ID is ‘ApsID’. I do my in app purchase on my iPhone and everything is hunky dory!** Now I lost my iPhone **Question1:  Is my purchase attached to my ‘UFID’ or my ‘ApsID’?  - For example can I login in my app on another iPhone with my UFID and restore purchases if      1 - the ApsID is different?      2 - the ApsID is the same? Question 2: Can same subscription run on Android & iPhone without any separate backend or the person needs to buy separate subscriptions for each platform?Thanks
