Separate subscription groups for products when offering sale pricing? (iOS)

When creating multiple offerings (ie. for sales or A/B testing), I understand it’s recommended that iOS devs use separate subscription groups so that users only see one offering in iOS subscription management page. HOWEVER...Question: What happens when a current user reinstalls on a new device and hits “Purchase” instead of “Restore Purchases”? With the separate subscription groups approach, there is the chance they will be double-charged if get the “B offering” when they originally purchased the “A offering”, correct? 😬Comments? Suggestions? Thx.

Best practice - handling multiple offerings in app

Hello! New RC user here. 👋Regarding the practice of offering a default “standard” price on a paywall during onboarding only, and then offering a discount price when the paywall is triggered elsewhere within the app: 1st question: Obviously I can use the “current” offering for the onboarding process. However, after that I will need to hard-code the “discount offering” title into the app, correct? 2nd question: If I want to remotely remove the “discount offering” at a later time (and show default only), is it safe to delete the offering in the RC dashboard and just code my app to show the “current” offering on default?I would appreciate any thoughts or suggestions on this strategy. Thanks! Note: on iOS, using separate Subscription Groups for each product.

Adding RevenueCat to a new project that built okay without RevenueCat. I’ve tried the project IOS 17 & 16 with RevenueCat. Using user attributes with the Firebase RevenueCat extension

In my app, I am trying to use Purchases.setAttibutes() to capture user settings and store them in Firestore. I had hoped that the attributes would appear in a document generated by the Firebase RevenueCat extension, but the attributes do not appear. Is this possible? If not, where are these attributes actually stored?

MTR from Stripe

Hi,I’m wondering about MTR for Stripe purchases.We have some products in Stripe that we do not want to be recognised in RevenueCat as revenue. From my understanding the RevenueCat server notifications are not required:RevenueCat does not require server notifications from Stripe, however doing so can speed up webhook and integration delivery times and reduce lag time for Charts. And therefore is MTR for Stripe purchases based on the receipts created via the POST /receipts API operation?Thanks.

App store review rejected due to "other payment mechanisms"

In my app I pretty much copy & pasted the Paywall code from the revenuecat example. So far no issues were detected during test phase and the restore purchases works as well. However after submitting for review on Apple App Store the app was rejected due to (a violation of Guideline 3.1.1):We noticed that your app includes or accesses paid digital content, services, or functionality by means other than in-app purchase, which is not appropriate for the App Store. Specifically:- The subscriptions can be purchased in the app using payment mechanisms other than in-app purchase. I’m not sure if this is related to using the revenuecat library or not, but I only have one way to buy the subscription and that’s via the button in the paywall. As “proof” of their claim they also included a screenshot which shows the loader overlay that’s shown while waiting for the ios native popup to show. Anyone else that faced this issue before or any suggestions on how to “fix it”?

Understanding refunds & Backend data processing

Inb4 great platform and docs ✋Hi, I’m almost finished with my iOS app and i’m at the point where i want to integrate in-app purchases. So far so good with settings up my project in revenuecat. My in app purchases is a common case of ​​​​​consumables - coin packages non-consumable - lifetime access auto-renewal subscriptions - silver / gold - monthly / yearlyI’m using firestore and cloud functions as db and backend, and i’ve also set up the revenuecat extension for firebase.  And let’s say on the user profile in firebase I have a field calledactive_subscription = silver / gold / free / lifetime Even though i’ve read lots of article about this, official documentation, examples etc, I still have some questions about certain flows especially Refunds I’m not sure how to handle them. If a refund is accepted by apple for a transaction, the cancellable event is triggered for the web hooks? if that is true, then in my backend hook i’ll update the profile active_subscription? then what’s the poi

What's the recommended way to exclude test/development users

My understanding is that while there is a concept of sandbox versus production purchases, there is no concept of a development versus production users. And since we can’t filter by custom user attributes, stats that involve factoring in the total number of users, like subscription rate, will be off in charts and experiments.Off the top of my head, some solutions might be:Mock RevenueCat outside of prod. Delete development/test users when I’m done with them. Accept that some metrics will be off. Perhaps use a separate analytics service for those.Is my understanding correct? And is there an official recommendation for how to handle this?

Why testing in-app-purchase is working on physical devices and not working on virtual?

Im using app subscriptions for long time but it is my first time I’m trying to test the IAP on a virtual device. Testing the android version on a virtual Pixel 7 pro (api 33) and Pixel 7 (api 34), the flow is working normally as expected until I get “ Something went wrong”, “Error code 3”  however using the same testing account, the same code is working fine on a physical device.  Im using flutter on a macbook device. I’m sure the Play store is updated on virtual devices.

In app purchases work fine on iOS, but getting the following error on android: Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'INAPP'

Free trials are converted after being cancelled due to a billing errors

Hi RevenueCat team,The question is about trial conversions for our iOS app Customuse.The issue is that many of trials got converted after being cancelled due to billings errors.I’ve attached a couple of examples. We have a 3-days grace period enabled for Paid-to-Paid renewals only, so it's not the case.Moreover, the conversions occurred a few days after the trials expired.Also from the Amplitude logs we see that users have not returned to the app to make a purchase, so the payments were made automatically.Could you explain why the trials were converted, please?And how can we avoid such false conversions.At Customuse, we are really worried about this issue because users can blame us for scam.Looking forward to your response.Customer ids:c98d6c3d-2946-4920-96bd-2919fd81be0f6aacf173-34a3-492c-9f0b-dfa86d1316c8Kind regards,Dmitry, Customuse

How to handle fake signups with refunds

Hi everyone,we had recently the case that some user registred 20 times in our app, bought in app purchases for each account and canceled the purchase afterwards on google. This worked pretty fine for him (no idea why google doesn´t realize this) and is pretty bad for us since we had costs serving the user but receive nothing since the user has canceld the in app purchase.Unfortunately it´s a no-go to let the user wait 2h or 2days (still not sure what is correct) unitl he receives his purchase.How does the revenue community handle this kind of problem?

Offerings not Available

Hi, we are having an issue where our offerings are not available. I’m testing on the latest xcode simulator for iOS. I have confirmed the bundle ID in xcode matches with that in revenuecat. I have also confirmed that the product identifier matches with what I am seeing in Apple. Our app is not on the app store and we don’t have a separate prod/dev environment. What could possibly be the issue? I tried going through the steps for the post regarding offerings not showing but I’m unable to figure what is wrong.

My iOS/Android app was hacked by some users and now they can bypass the payment process and access all the pro content of my app.Does Revenuecat help to prevent that by double authenticate before unlocking the pro content?

Play store rejection, reviewer from unsupported country

Hey,My mobile game (I'm using unity SDK) got rejected by the google play store, the screenshot they provided of my paywall shows that the offers weren’t properly shown.We didn’t change the paywall in this submission, and it seems to be working fine on the live version and on iOS.When digging a bit on the potential reasons why, I found out that it is potentially related to the currency info or price property of the packages. I know for a fact, from previous screenshots they sent me, that play store reviewers are sometimes from countries where my subscription offers are not available (India or Pakistan I think).I feel this is conflicting with the fact that my app needs to get access to currency info and package price in order to show the offers.How does revenue cat handle that weird case where the paywall is supposed to show offers that are actually not available to the playstore reviewer given its unsupported country ?Any help appreciated thanks !

ios app released but products not showing up even after 72 hours

our in app subscriptions was working in develepment and testflight till we got approved on the app storenow it only works in the debug version the app status is ready for sale and all the products are approved the app has been released for 72 hours but the products still come empty i know it may take up to 24 hours for the products to show up but 72 hours is a concerning as i have not seen any one say it took this long is there a way to check if something is wrong or if we are missing any configration ?

Is it possible to have multiple subscriptions per user outside of pre-determined subscription groups?

I want to offer the possibility for a user to manage several teams with individual subscriptions for each team. I have read in Apple’s documentation that in order for a user to have several subscriptions for the same app, those subscriptions must be associated with separate subscription groups. But the example they give (different channels) makes it possible to have those subscription groups pre-determined. I can’t do that in my case. Is there a way to support this scenario with in-app purchase subscriptions?

App Store rejected because of bad offering

Hello,So I am trying to get my app approved on App Store. Basically I have a subscription group which contains a single product that is payed monthly. But I also add an offer of free first month for new users for that product. I did all configurations as tutorials show and I am able to test the subscription, the restore purchases and those things.But then Apple rejected my app saying that I am trying to make a full payment attempt when I should offer the first month for free. I don’t know how this is being handled by revenue cat, am I missing something? I just configured the product on revenue cat but I didn’t configured any “first month offer” inside revenue cat, just on Apple side for that product.We found that your in-app purchase products exhibited one or more bugs which create a poor user experience.Specifically, while your subscription offer promises the first month for free, the purchase page does not respect this offer and attempts to complete the full payment at that instant.P

Getting error when trying to fetch ProductDetails from Google Play store in Flutter - repost

Hi all, reposting here because, I got no reply in Dashboard & Tools. This is the error I am getting: W/[Purchases] - WARN(24005): There is a problem with your configuration in Play Store Developer Console. More info here: https://errors.rev.cat/configuring-products I am following the guide here: Why are offerings or products empty? Have not had the app published yet. But the interesting thing is in RevenueCat Dashboard, I can IMPORT my iNAPP products. RevenueCat can identify a new product created in my Play console, import it without any issues but can’t fetch ProductDetails! Is this normal? Again, have not published my app in Closed testing yet, waiting for review to finish. But since I’m a license tester on a physical phone, and RevenueCat can fetch the products themselves from the Dashboard, maybe there is something else I am missing?

Expo and Storekit

I didn’t understand how to test the inApp purchases on a iOS simulator using Expo. I usually run my code withnpx expo run:ios     I’ve created the subscription and certificate in XCode following the documentation: https://www.revenuecat.com/docs/apple-app-store#ios-14-only-testing-on-the-simulator Now I’m not sure how to build/run correctly the app.
