Hey, I know it is “not possible to differentiate” between regular purchases and promo codes you give out for your app on the Apple App Store. I think there’s a way.This obviously only matters when your audience is small and/or your app is first released and you’re obsessing about your first 100 users, but I think it would help people who are starting out with RC to support this.I noticed on some transactions I can see in the history that they purchased and cancelled immediately. Like, 100% immediately and have the same `event_timestamp_ms`. This clearly indicates a promo code purchase as they do not renew. So surely these can be binned & flagged as promo code purchases when the purchase + unsubscribe happen within say 500ms of each other, and so filtered out from most of the reports? I’m sure it wouldn’t be perfect, but it’s got to be better than me having to go in and look at individual transactions or use App Store Connect to show only the true purc

Hi RevenueCat team, I wanted to share an issue we’ve encountered with experiments and get your guidance on it. Summary We’re testing A/B experiments with our app and noticed that RevenueCat only seems to treat users as “new” (for experiment enrollment) if their original app user ID is in the $RCAnonymousID:xxxxxx format. In our setup, we intentionally avoid using anonymous IDs because they cause issues with subscription transfers, generate transfer events we can’t handle, and make it harder to link subscriptions to known user accounts. Instead, we always create new users with explicit original IDs (for example: {appName}_prod.2283035).  Steps to reproduce 1️⃣ Launch the app and configure RevenueCat directly with a custom user ID (e.g., an internal user ID format) as the initial app user ID, without first creating an anonymous user

Hi everyone,I create a Webhook URL but when I try to receive real events but I don't see them in the “Webhook Events” list - is empty and also in my web hook server I didn't receive anything, but in “Recent Transactions” I see it why? “Refresh” - don't do anything.   

Tbh im super super paywall editor won't support centering vertically and surprised example paywalls are basically hardcoded heights and won't look good when switched to tablet screen preview. The paywall editor is lacking option to centre element in available screen height. Take any example of the paywall, switch to tablet screen preview and you'll see everything anchored to top of the screen instead centred vertically to take full available screen height...Reproduce easily: create empty paywall → add features element and try to center it vertically in available space - theres no way to do it as element spacing cannot be set to fill height because “can't fill width - parent element set to Fit”. But parent element is simply paywall element without option to adjust this setting. Setting height to pixels. Without feature of entering element in available space its not possible to build properly reactive UI adapting to different screen heights

Hi Everyone,I was monitoring the RC Dashboard and saw a user make a purchase. Everything appeared normal. Firebase UID was the app_user_id, and the firestore database user record was updated correctly.After about 5 minutes, I saw the app_user_id had changed to "Anna441994!", and a document had been created in the database under that uid.I have opened a support ticket for this, but wanted t see if anyone else had seen this and if this is a hack by some desperado.I’m concerned it may be the latter.I have attached screen grabs of the data i’m seeing.CheersMichaelC

But I was wondering if you could provide a simple “dollar retention after 1 month for monthly subscriptions” figure by Category.I see page 69 has one 6 months in, but I was wonderng the % of a second monthly payment after a first one.Thanks!

Hey everyone,I was reading through this closed thread about tracking revenue by specific Apple Search Ads keywords.Like many of you, I had the same problem. RevenueCat shows Campaign/AdGroup level data, but without keyword-level visibility it's impossible to see which specific keywords are actually driving conversions vs. just burning cash - unless you pay $5k+ for an enterprise MMP.I ended up building something called AppSkale that connects your ASA data with RevenueCat so you can see exactly which keywords are generating revenue and which ones aren't.Just wanted to drop this here in case anyone from the old thread is still stuck on this. I've been experimenting with the Charts API v2 to build an automated weekly operator brief, and I found something interesting.When you pull revenue and MRR chart data for the same time window, they can tell completely different stories. In one project I analyzed, revenue was up ~14.7% while MRR was down ~3.0% in the same comparison window. If you only checked one chart, you'd either celebrate or worry — but the real signal is in the contradiction between them.The pattern: annual prepayments can inflate revenue while the monthly recurring base quietly declines. I call this a "sugar rush" — the topline looks healthy but the recurring foundation isn't compounding.I built a small open-source tool that automates this comparison across multiple chart endpoints (revenue, MRR, churn, trial conversion, new customers, trials) and flags when metrics move in contradicting directions:

This is possible, and there are a few reasons why it happens:The user cancelled less than 24 hours before the subscription was set to renew. The Apple subscription terms require users to cancel subscriptions at least 24 hours before the next renewal. The user didn't actually opt-out of renewal. Is there any way to include a gradient overlay to text within the paywall builder within revenuecat? or does this mean I have to manually create my paywall since text gradients are crucial for me. I tried looking around and even finding alternative solutions like importing it as a png but the issue was the resolution and also no way of importing the text as an svg either.Please do let me know if there are any solutions/workarounds.

We report the USD equivalent of all revenue events for our integrations computed from that day's conversion rate.

If you feel like a subscription or trial should have expired, but you see that it’s still active, then that subscription is likely in a grace period.For example, this user signed up for a 3-day free trial of the 1-month subscription on May 5, 2020 which should have converted on May 08, 2020. However, the dashboard shows the expiration date as May 24, 2020. This is because Apple applied a 16-day grace period due to some billing issue. Apple will continue attempting to bill the user until they successfully do so or reach the end of the 16-day grace period, at which point the trial will no longer be active.  

I’m confused about what the “New Customers” metric means? Does that mean how many people have subscribed or how many people have viewed the paywall screen? 

We have just imported about 5000 Stripe receipts. We can look up individual customers by their user id, but none of them show up in the Active customer list. Our import was very straightforward. We just imported the user id and the fetch_token (stripe receipt). Everything looks correct for each customer in terms of their subscription dates and spend, but they don’t appear to be recognized as active

Sometimes a user will say they've made a purchase but they don't seem to have access to the content in RevenueCat. What gives? There are several reasons why that might happen, and this article will walk you through what you can do to troubleshoot.If there's no purchases showing in the RevenueCat dashboard it means that either no receipt was sent by that App User ID, or the receipt that was sent didn't contain any purchases. In this case you should:Ask the user to Restore Purchases (or someway trigger the restoreTransactions() SDK method). Restoring will re-sync the current receipt on the device with RevenueCat, and unlock any associated content. There are cases, such as network connectivity failures, where the receipt may never make it to RevenueCat after a purchase. There is automatic retry logic built into the SDK to handle these

Hi,  When filtering in the customer view, can we please add a filter for price in purchased currency. We’re trying to identify customers who have redeemed a promotional offer, and are currently using a range on total spent. This leads to lots of false positives in our reporting.  Additionally if this field could also be sent as part of the Amplitude integration that would be super helpful for our reporting.  Thanks 

I am unable to view dates when exporting the .CSV from customer lists. 1) .gz is a silly file type to use for compression 2)I have followed the directions in this for PC.  I have tried the Excel import wizard. It works but dates are illegible. I have tried pasting from a text editor into both GooglSheets and Excel with the same issue. I am not an Excel nor Google sheets rookie by any means but this issue has stumped me. Extremely frustrated. .csv is an extremely simple format to use and export. 

Hello,I have created a paywall in revenuecat’s designer. I have an issue with scroll and carousels: having a carousel in a scrolling screen prevent user from scrolling vertically (impossible on iOS, extremly hard on Android). I thinks it’s a gesture detection issue, trying to scroll vertically make an horizontal scroll on the carousel instead.If you have any tips ! 

I have an Android app that I created years ago with a non-consumable one-time in-app purchase. In 2024 I converted it to start using RevenueCat. I realized I can see proceeds in the yearly charts for the years I didn’t have RevenueCat, which I assume are users who are still using it and re-established their purchase in the new version of the app.Is there a way to backfill all the missing data, even for those former users who haven’t yet opened the new app, such that the charts will be retroactively correct for revenue or proceeds would be accurate.Perhaps this is documented somewhere but my searches have come up empty.
